you could try checking online to see what the laws are where you live. I live in Utah and here she wouldnt be able to get him in trouble with age cuz you are over 16. But she would be able to put a restraining order on him and keep you guys from seeing each other.

It depends. He could possibly go to jail, but I would say it's unlikely.
I was on a grand jury once, and we would get a lot of these cases where a mom was pulling the boyfriend in because he was sleeping with her daughter. But, the daughter was never willingly testifying against the boyfriend, and the prosecutor didn't like to pursue cases like that. They usually didn't go to trial.
Good luck!

Well, that could put him in jail but your mom needs to think this through.
If she is letting you keep the baby (which I am hoping she is)
Would she have wanted you without a father?
Does she want to help care for the child?
Does she want you to be miserable with this kid and no father?
I will go ahead and tell you, I had my father around for about one fourth of my life and it causes many problems as soon as he was out of it.
So, I highly highly highly consider talking to your mom about this on a serious serious level.
She wants to take him to the cops because she is mad and disappointed now.
But how will her feelings be justified whenever that baby is 5+ years old without a father???
She will feel bad.
Tell her not to think for the moment but to think for the lifetime of the baby.
No one wants to grow up without a father. especially if he will make a potentially good father.
And if it wasn't rape, then it would really be unfair.

it all depends on your state, i was 15 when i got pregnant, and my boyfriend was 20 about to be 21, he got in deep trouble, but in my state [pa] they told me age of consent is 16, but my parents have the say even tho i consented my parents could still take him to jail, he went to jail... for 6-12 months, and that is the LEAST they can get, depending on how many charges he gets if he goes to jail, he can be in there for 10 years - 12 years at the most....
i consented, i wanted to be with him, but my dad and step mom didnt think so... sooo he went to jaill... =[
hope all goes well for you....

Well I've heard of a case where an 18 year old guy got a 14 year old pregnant........
He was in jail for a while, and he has since got out but has the "registered sex offender" label for the rest of his life....

It depends on the state. Somes states only require you to be 14 to consent on having sex. I don't think there is much she can do.

he'll probably get statutory rape charges got to jail for a while, and have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. and stay away from you. i think you are old enough to handle your own things though. if you where 13 it would be different. good luck.
