I lost a little girl this past February. I can't describe my emotional state, but there was enough strife for me to switch from Reserve to Active Duty Army, and move across the county. I came with a mindset to deploy, b/c there's no question in whether this Iraq is going to fade away.
I had no plans to fall in love with a guy. But I did. He truly wants a family, and shares my grief of lossing a child. He wants me to deploy (b/c he's deployed, and he knows the importance of it in our career.) But he also wants to start a family (and marriage, of course.) So, we're having to settle for a few things. We're constantly going back and forth over what it is that we want to do. Have a baby? Don't have a baby?
Emotionally, I am so torn. Everything seems like a pregnancy symptom. I can't seem to get a hold on what I really should be focusing on now: my future deployment or my personal future...

My 17 month old son climbed out of his crib this afternoon. Everybody says once they start that you need to move them to a twin bed. He really hates to sleep and I know that this is going to be a struggle. I don't think he is mature enough...does anyone have any suggestions?

So my husband has decided that we are not going to have any more sex til after our baby comes. This week is my 30th week and he says now that i'm soooo big and so far along he no longer feels comfortable making love to me. He says the last 2 or 3 times after making love he stays awake wondering and worrying what harm he could be doing to me and our unborn son. Is he crazy or is it just me?! I want to have sex and I miss it very much! Has anyone else's husband/boyfriend got this crazy idea in his head? I'm glad he's concerned and all but i'm feeling great, the doctor says the baby is doing great and i'm not high risk so whats the big deal!?

This doctor was recommended to me by a friend... I have been seeing him since i was about 9 weeks or so... I am now 28 weeks 4 days and up until yesterday I had a very unpleasant experience with him... He was very preferencial towards patients his ethnic background... I'm not racist... I love all people... I just really felt that he was so much more patient with them than with me... The majority of his patients are of his ethnic background... This had been my 4th ultrasound trying to determine the sex of the baby and everytime he tries he's just very impatient with me... He doesn't even tell me how much my baby is measuring or anything of the sort... He said it was "unclear" and I asked why... If the baby was too small or if the baby was not positioned correctly... He said "Cause you're fat" I was in shock... I asked when it would be clear and he said "When you lose fat" and he laughed... He made me cry!!! I guess my ? is... Is it too late to switch doctor's???

My son will be 9 right after christmas. Last year I tried to take him with 3 or 4 friends snow boarding. But, no snow. So I ended up taking him with 9 other kids to mcdonalds and the movies. I spent a fortune on candy, juice, and food. Then we went back to the house for cake and games. (not to mention parents came late and I had 5 kids for an extra 1 1/2! Any ideas for things to do this year? Fun and not too expensive?! Let me know!

Up until a few weeks ago, she would take 2 naps a day for at least an hour each. Now, she takes those 2 naps but they are a half hour at the longest. It leaves me no time to get things done and leaves her fussy. Please help!

I TTC for 10 months, finally I got pregnant. My recommendation for those on that situation in try to be relax (get a massage or a warm bath) and try to predict you exact day of ovulation as you have read as I did TIMING in everything. Mine was done on the ovulation day. A lot of baby dust and good luck !!!!!!!!!!!!

So I have been seeing this guy for about 4 months and we are really serious, hes 26 and has no children he told me he's sterile and has a very small chance about 10%. He uses steriod inhalers and i guess the doc. told him if he switches to regular ones his chances would be higher. I love kids and I do want them. Yesterday we went out to eat and we were talking about thanksgiving and i said that i wouldnt cook a big meal until i have a family, then he said speaking of that when are u due for your period? and then when we got back home i mentioned my boobs were sore and he said pregnancy sore or period sore? he then kissed my stomach, he has been doing this stuff more often and i know he wants children but is there anyway to boost our chances? we have been having unprotected sex for a couple months now and nothing. Im also wondering if his actions are hinting that he wants a child to? any opinions would be great thanks!

I've been divorced for quite a while now and my ex husband knows I've already moved on since the separation, as he has also. I just got engaged to my bf of almost a year in October and that same week we became pregnant. I already have 3 boys with my XH so this will be my fourth. I told my kids about the baby and they are so excited but I've told them to keep it quiet for now and not to tell their dad just yet, until I'm ready for him to know. My question is how do you break that kind of news to an ex husband when you know it will make him a little upset. He had a vasectomy before we separated because he didnt' want any more kids. I don't want him "wishing" bad things for us and the new baby.. =( should I tell him? He'll eventually know anyway.

Thanks!!

I understand that it's because they have to eat more often so naturally they are fussy more often when they want their food.

I agree that breastfeeding is best for the baby, especially in the first few crucial days. But my medication forces me to bottle feed, so please don't preach.

My friend's baby is breastfed and incredibly fussy. My baby girl is so good, so attentive and active and her baby just screams and screams. She can't take it sometimes, she drops her off at my house so she can clear her head. And of course, the baby is fussy for me too. Because of this, she's slowly weaning her and moving her towards bottles, and she's been MUCH happier, we saw her smile for the first time!

I guess my question is...
Do you think that the added health benefits of breastfeeding are worth the stress the baby goes through being hungry ALL the time? I want my baby to feel full. I myself was a bottle fed baby and I'm thin, bright, happy, and healthy, as are all my sibs.

When did your child stop calling you mommy/daddy and go to mom or dad. My 11yr old calls me mommy still but my 4yr old likes to just call me mom. Mom to me just sounds so plain and yucky while mommy sounds like this upbeat person with a lot of character at least to me anyway.
so how old were your kids when they stopped the mommy/daddy and moved staright to mom or dad?

Hey ladies, I'm pregnant with my first baby and I'm having an amniocentesis done in a few weeks. (His second cousin has Downs.) I'm pretty tolerant when it comes to pain but this amnio business sounds pretty painful. What's everybody's opinion?

My daughter is 2 years and 1 month and up until 2 weeks ago would go to bed every night at 7pm and sleep right through. no trouble. But for the last two weeks she wont go to bed and end up falling asleep around midnight (sometimes 1am) through sheer exhaustion. she wakes up every 3 hours and wants someone to sit next to her bed while she falls asleep again. i have tried literally everything inc controlled crying, letting her cry it out etc and nothing is working. I have a 12 week baby to look after to so its difficult when im tired. my partner helps out best he can but he too need sleep. i talked to my health visitor and she said just keep putting her bk to bed which im doing. I'm seeing her this thursday and was wondering if anyone thinks she would let me give her phenergan once so she can have a good nights sleep? Has anyone else used phenergan on their child?

My baby girl is two weeks old. How long do I need to wait before I can take her shopping or to run errands with me? I know she has virtually no immune system, so I don't want to compromise that.
