Safe for the pregnant woman and baby, HARMFUL for the toucher... us pregnant women can get awefully testy when an unwanted person suddenly touches our belly

by stomach you mean belly or the actual stomach?
if the belly: personally i dont think that it is hurtful because they are not touching the baby. pregnant women do it all the time: they always touch their belly. however punching it is not good.
if the stomach: i dont know. u have to ask a doctor for that!

I think it's more disrespectful then anything else. Especially, if you don't know each other that well or are co-workers.
I'm not going to say that I've never had the urge to touch someones baby bump but I think about how I would feel if it were me. i wouldn't even touch a close friends belly without gaining permission first.

It is perfectly fine and they are just admiring and thinking how wonderful and want to touch it. Everyone knows how special babies are and how cute. There is nothing hurtful to you or the baby just admiration. Feel proud.====

as long as u have the woman's permission to touch the stomach then its safe for all.
