My baby girl is two weeks old. How long do I need to wait before I can take her shopping or to run errands with me? I know she has virtually no immune system, so I don't want to compromise that.

I was taking my daughter out and about frequently within a week. She was 8 months old before she got her first cold. If you're nursing, the baby is getting great protection from your breast milk.

Carry baby in a sling while out to keep her warm and content.

We took my daughter out at 2 weeks to do our grocery shopping, we just kept the trips very short. We would keep her car seat covered with a blanket and make sure not to let strangers come up and grab her hands or get in her face (man that irritates me!!). I think you should be fine, just don't go on marathon shopping trips, just start slow with a short trip here and there.

my baby was 4 days old when i had to go to the store. i needed groceries, with two other kids in the house its almost impossible to be able to stay home for that long. the other kids had needs and i had things that had to be done as well. i think if you stay home for to long you are going to go crazy and may start to resent the baby for keeping you cooped up.

after 2 weeks is good and no long trips because the baby is still very small and can catch germs and get sick.

sunlight is good for the baby in small amounts as the sun is what gives us vitamin D, though it is present in small amounts in breastmilk.

who ever thumbs downed me needs to do some serious research.
