Pregnancy & Parenting - 7 October 2007

I have a 8 week old beautiful baby and i love him with all my heart. i have to go back to work in 1 month and i don't know if i should. My husband and i are 80% not to go back and 20% to go back. The reason is because it's a County Job and it's not easy to get a job there. Plus the other and most important reason is because they have really good benefits, the insurance is so good. In the other hand, i don't make a lot of money and it doesn't make sense to only use the money that i'm making to pay someone to take care of my baby. Right now my husband don't need much of my help , now he thinks is not so hard. I think i used to expend more money when i worked. I know that nobody is going to take care of my baby like i do and i already know him. Another very important thing is that because i'm with him 24/7 i worry too much and it is not easy for me to leave him with anybody else without me being there. Please help me!!!! i don't don't want to make a decision that late i will regret.

I am a new mother (My son David Jackson Sleeper is almost 5 months old) and having a child makes me REALLY want to have another one in a year or two. But I'm having trouble finding some awesome boy and girl names. I DON'T like made up/weird names. I prefer old fashioned, easy to spell names, it's easier on the child that way. The last name is Sleeper, thank you for the help.

when i ask questions about abortion do people think im pregnant. 2 things. 1: i would NEVER even consider it. 2: im a virgin and i plan on staying one. i just want to make it clear that im a CURIOUS 14 year old girl who likes to learn about this kind of stuff. im just wondering why people think im pregnan when im only curious. ive NEVER had sex. and if you wanna know something ive made out wen i was 8 but big flipping deal.

My two year old son vomits all the time. Not because he's sick.. but at the times when he is in trouble. When it's bedtime and he gets upset..he gets upset to the point that he vomits. When he's in trouble, he'll upset himself to the point where he vomits. What causes this? What can I do to correct it? It's literally a daily thing.

I'm currently 7 months, and one week pregnant, and i'm still working 44 hours a week. It's really starting to get hard on me, and i keep asking my boss to cut my hours, and he won't because we are still a bit busy for the season. He just hired on a new person. This person will be picking up hours while i'm on leave after the baby. He told me that once he was trained he would move me to 32 hours a week. But that still hasn't happened. Would i be to selfish to get a doctors note to have my hours cut? I work in a casino, and i'm on my feet quite a bit, and i don't get breaks for dinner, or anything. ( I'm in a seperate building where it's just me ) I have to shove me face so fast i sick because i can't eat in peace, if i even to get to eat. Just wondering what your thoughts are, and if anyone else has done this. I feel really bad, but i'm just whooped from this job, and it's been really stressful on me. I have only been sick ONE day out of my whole pregnancy too. i'm 29 weeks

ok so my last Q sead I was caught making out in the hall with my bf that no one knows I have ... I don’t tell because my mom wont let me date till I’m 16 and I am 14 so if my mom or sis or bro ever comes to pick me up I don’t want some one saying something about him and also he really is not all that cool not that it matters cuz I am not cool 2 but that’s why I don’t tell
and as a 14 year old girl I know I don’t wana a kid with no daddy or just a kid even with a daddy so don’t say your mom just does not want you to get pregnant so yeah that’s why

I have 2 girls the eldest was only 5 mths old when i fell preg with 2nd and icame down with post-natal depression i ended up in a hospital for treatment, back then i didnt have a car i had moved away fom my family and had very little support but things have changed since then now i have a car i have a job and c family often now that things are back on track and no longer suffer from PND is it a good idea to try for a third and what are the chances of getting PND again it is very hard looking back and not remembering much about my girls when they were babies because of the state i was in i really would like another one but i am so scared of going through that all over again my grls are now 4 & 5 and are always asking for a baby brother or sister what should i do?

I know this sounds weird but my 20mo son hardly ever acts out. He used to all the time and then I got strick with him by giving him time-outs and he shaped up really quick. He is very gentle now and is really loving and sweet. He does scream when he's upset but I talk to him and explain to him why I said no, etc. And he calms right down. On very rare occasions I have to get angry at him he quivers, I think I have scared him into being good. He does love me and give me lots of kisses. Do you think that's possible, to be scared of me those times?

i'm trying to get my 12 month old daughter away from the bottle and onto a sippy cup. i haven't completely taken the bottle away yet because she hasn't gotten use to anything else (sippy cup). and every cup iv'e tried she'll take a small few drinks then throw it down and not pick it up again.i dont think it's a horrible thing that she still prefers her bottle because she is only 12 months old, i just dont want her to get too attached. iv'e used nuby cups and playtex cups both soft and hard tips. any suggestions?

Both of us easily have enough money to provide for our (9) children. Its not the money I care about, its something else- I just don't think its right for him to be richer because he abused our kids (which is why we're seperated) and doesn't have to provide for us. First of how much should I ask for (he has another family, with 2 kids, but they have a step dad, and he gives them $500 a month)- 4 kids in collage and 5 between the ages of 3 and 15. Second if he refuses, if I take him to court will I probably win (I live in America).

During a picnic, my 4-year old nephew tried to "test" me by putting dirt in a vegetable platter in front of me after I asked him not to. I firmly said, "No, listen to me. Do NOT do that". He immediately put his head down and became withdrawn. No biggie. Then my sister walks over to soothe him and explains that he is sensitive when "other people" scold him. Then, to really rub it in, her husband walks over and rubs my nephew's neck. You'd think that I had kicked the kid in the crotch or something!! I'm pregnant with my 1st child, and I'd be totally cool with my sis yelling, even spanking, my kid if s/he ever acted up. I don't get it. He's my nephew. Are they overprotective, or did I really cross the line?? I feel insulted.

My mom is persistent on me getting "the shot" even though I really don't want it. She says I'm getting it tomorrow when I go to the gyno, but I've read you can only get it right after the start of your period. Is this true? Or can they give it whenever they feel necessary? I think I might be pregnant, I'm taking a test tomorrow and getting a blood test done at the gyno, but I was just wondering what you know about Depro-Provera.

I need some advice on some ideas to get my son to want to learn. My son is 5 and in kindergarten and does not want to learn, he doesnt seem to absorb any info because he forgets it all by the end of the day. My daughter is 8 and in 2nd grade and they are thinking of moving her up a grade because she is so smart and is bored with the 2nd grade information because she already knows it. She has been willing to learn everything since day 1 and i cant seem to get my son interested?
Anybody have advice for me???

I have tried to make it easy on her by not telling her that I miss her so much when she is gone..I have not spoken ill of her father. I have kept every bad deed he has done from her verbally. She wakes up crying on the weekends she has to spend the day with him begging me to tell her it is not Saturday/ Sunday. I try to make leaving me quick and painless. I hold any tears I have until she is gone..I try to only think happy thoughts so she won't get a negative vibe from me...He is not physically abusing her...but It kills me. How can I make this easier on her. I love her more than life. I would and I do anything/everything for her.

My daughter is 7 months old and sits unattended, she has been leaning herself forward and getting onto 1 knee mostly and her hands but then just whinges, she doesnt know how to move forward or anything if she moves her hands she just ends up on her belly. How do i help her to learn to move forward or will she just figure it out on her own???

I have found that the new Luvs diapers are identical to Pampers and i love and use both. I want to know why is it that some baby's leak in a certain brand while others don't? I only want to know why some people claim that a certain diaper leaks or doesn't fit right, or don't hold as much, etc. with their baby that others it might be the oposite. I am just curious why this happens?
