Here is a page that explains it: http://www.genealogy.com/16_cousn.html
You would be first cousins, once removed. Your child and your cousin's child will be second cousins.
This is in the American tradition (and I guess most European traditions, too) but as I learned recently, other cultures have different systems. My husband's family is Filipino and his cousin is considered our daughter's Aunt. My husband's Aunt is considered one of our daughter's Grandparents. So there ya go :)

No, to be an aunt or an uncle, the person having the baby would have to be your brother or sister. If the person who is having the baby your 1st cousin then the baby would be your second cousin, if the person having the baby is your mom or dads first cousin then the baby would be your parents second cousin and you would be the babies 3rd cousin
hope this helps

You are a cousin to that baby. I get fuzzy on the second cousin/first cousin once removed thing...my grandmother can rattle that stuff off like crazy, but you would be that baby's cousin, not aunt or uncle.

If your cousin has a baby you are a cousin. If it is your 1st cousin's baby (mother's or father's sibling's child had the baby) you are the 2nd cousin when their children have children you are the 3rd cousin and so on.
The only way you get to be an uncle or an aunt is if your brother, sister, sister-in-law, or brother-in-law have a baby. By the way, a brother-in-law would be your husband or wife's brother and your siser-in-law is your husband or wife's sister.

If your first cousin has a baby, you're the first cousin once removed. If you have a baby, your baby and your cousin's baby are second cousins.

A cousin....in order to be the aunt or uncle it would have to be your sibling having the baby or your niece/nephew having a baby (which would make you great aunt/uncle).
