I have found that the new Luvs diapers are identical to Pampers and i love and use both. I want to know why is it that some baby's leak in a certain brand while others don't? I only want to know why some people claim that a certain diaper leaks or doesn't fit right, or don't hold as much, etc. with their baby that others it might be the oposite. I am just curious why this happens?

I think its the particular baby.

My son gets rashes from any thing but huggies supremes, even the regular huggies.

Pampers ALWAYS move the wrong way and leak, and luvs ALWAYS leak on him. I have no idea why.

lol.

From a retired Pampers/Luvs sale rep. Luvs are the old version of Pampers. When they upgrade a version of Pampers, the older version of Pampers become Luvs. They are usually a few dollars less but will do the job. Retailer like Walmart make almost no money on these brands. They are sold almost at cost. P& G changes these diapers so often, and before I retired, I could not keep up with the brand discriptions. I sold most all of the P&G brands and this was a nightmare. Why some leak and others don't, I don' know. You are the first person I have ever known, outside of company employees, that recognized that the two brands are almost the same. Most of them are now made in Kansas City, the best my memory serves me.

Babies are different shapes.

When my son was under 8 months he was very pudgy so he had to wear relatively large diapers for them to fit around. I found that name brand like huggies or pampers worked best because the store brand diapers were too tall and narrow.

Now it doesn't seem to matter as much.

The diapers have a different capacity to hold fluids...they are tested to see how much they will hold before they begin to leak. Also the elastic and the closures and the shapes may be slightly different, which is why certain brands may leak on certain babies.. I found all this out with my daughter!

I use luvs too, but I don't like pampers. I think it depends on how often they are changed and how tightly they are put on and if they are put on straight. My son leaked in parents choice diapers, but they were horribly thin and didn't seem to fit to his body. luvs, pampers, white cloud, and huggies have all been fine.

It totally depends on how the baby is shaped, big belly, skinny legs, long torso, etc. I put my now 9 month old in size 3 diapers many months ago, not because she weighed enough, but because she's very tall and the size 2's weren't long enough up her back. Some diapers have larger leg holes, and some have better velcro, so it all depends on the shape. Hope that helped. Goodluck

Babies come in different shapes. Your baby could get a pudgy waist, but if her legs were too skinny, the proper size waist may leak in some brands. Likewise, if the legs were pudgy, but the waist was skinny, you could have leakage out the top. That is why different brands work better for different babies. Some work better for boys than girls. Some of it is also operator error.

It depends on how you apply the diaper or how much your child puts out at a time, how long you leave it on. See with my son Luvs were HORRIBLE. Leaked all the time...mess! Had to use Huggies.

I don't know but Pampers and Luvs are not identical, my son is allergic to Pampers and not Luvs. And Luvs(size smaller than 3) don't have stretchy tabs like Pampers ...

Every baby and mama are different. There is no one thing that works the same for everyone. People swear up and down that there way is the best way, but YOUR way is the best way. That is what is beautiful about motherhood. Every mother and child is unique to themselves, including what diaper work best for you. Enjoy your little one!
