She does well in school, keeps up with her chores, doesn't even ask to go out with her friends, and is a good kid all around. But the tounge ring is out of her character, to me. She had it for a week and a half before I confronted her. We don't really talk anymore and I think she feels that I don't care about what she has to say. I made her take it out, and she still acts like she did from before.

Just looking for some advice on my Partner adopting my daughter.
Been with current partner 4 years.
Have child together, thats on it way due March.
Daughters father has no contact, his decision i have never stopped him. No one in his side of the family, not even grandparents have contact, they cant be bothered as only live 20mins drive away.
He does not help out financially as myself and current partner both work so we do not need his help.
Daughters father already has own children with current partner, for which my daughter has never meet her sisters, nor mentions or asks about them.
My daughter does have ex partners surname.
When my ex partner and myself had our daughter we were not married but his name is on the birth certificate.
Can my current partner adopt my daughter?
Do i have to tell my ex partner?
Can i change my daughters surname once adopted?
Do i have to tell my ex partner i am changing my daugthers surname?
Sorry for going on.
Can anyone help????

our daughter is 5 weeks old, when I brought her home she slept on her back just fine, but now she is starting to notice her world and of course is now a bit more lively, and we have started tummy times, and side times, etc, as a result, lately when I put her down for her sleeping times and at night, she fusses, and if while holding her you hold her in the crook of your arm on her back she fusses till you lay her on your shoulder, when she is in her stroller, she fusses, until we turn her onto her stomach, she then quiets down and goes right to sleep...what do we do? she will not fall asleep at night unless we lay her on her stomach, now, when she falls into a deep sleep we are then able to turn her onto her back and keep her sleeping, but my fear is we will end up falling asleep ourselves before turning her over, she also likes to sleep on her left side, what do I do?

my daughter is 11and half and is moody, has a bad tummy etc but shes been like this for months
i have been told since she was about 9-10 her terrible mood swings are down to hormones and her changing body but living with her atm is hell she is our eldest ( 4 others)
has anyone else gone through this and it turned out to be her periods if so do you think hers will finally start?
i keep giving her a hot water bottle ,paracetamol and getting her to have warm baths but nothing helps

Okay, there is this woman I be-friended, whom I've known for almost 9 months now.
Well, I have a 6-month old son, and she offered to babysit him so that my husband and I can go out and spend some time together. I agreed that would be a great idea, BUT the next day I had to call her and let her know that we wouldn't need her to babysit, but hopefully in a couple weeks we could go out.

Well, she friggin started to make me feel guilty, and though I could not see her, I heard her crying over the telephone. I asked what was wrong, and she said that she missed her kids, and she was having a difficult time... She told me that she had been excited to babysit our son, and she had even told her mom about it, and that then I went and cancelled on her. WTF!?

That's when a lot of red flags started popping up in my head. And so then she began to insist that she come over and take my son for a couple of hours, and I kept telling her no, but she continued to insist....

because the prenatal vitamins made you sick?
I am one of them. I couldn't keep those darn prenatal vitamins down, so that's what my doctor suggested. If you read the labels, the Flintstone vitamins have the exact same thing in them as prenatal vitamins, plus more.

to suffer from post partum depression even if your baby past away? I gave birth a little over a week and I was too early and my baby past away after 10 hours. Since then I have been up and down and crying a lot. I know I am dealing with the pain of losing my baby but is it possible that I also have post partum?

It took me awhile to realize I was preganat because one i was still getting my period and second i had a really bad stomache flu... So in feb when i didnt get my when i didnt get my period I figured that i was prgnant. And when I went to the doctor they determined my due date was November.... So my husband went ahead and planned this trip with his company he works with.... THen I get my ultra sound and they tell me Im further along then they had thought. Im due october 5th.... And my husband is suppose to leave this Friday and come back the following Monday. Im scared he wont be here and i really need him there. And he should be there. But The company is being stupid now and says that he still needs to go to this work related trip. IS there anyway I can explain this to my doctor and have im induce me.... I know being induced isnt a good option. But I just want him to be there....

My son just turned 5 in May. We got him a bike this weekend that came with training wheels. He knows how to pedal and everything. He wants to ride his bike to school but I do not want him to get made fun of because he has training wheels. kids today are very mean! There is no other bike at the school that has training wheels. I want to start teaching him how to ride his bike w/o training wheels but I don't know if he is at the right age or not.

My sister´s children are Ella and Lily-not nicknames, just their names.

We want to name a girl Eliana, but call her Ellie.

What do you think-are we copying, or does this sound completely different that her children´s names?

I am concerned because my 17 month old daughter slaps me in the face when she doesn't get her way sometimes. I firmly say "No hitting! Do nice to mommy. You don't hit mommy." I am jusr wondering if this is cause for concern, or this is normal "testing" behavior of 17 month old children. At first, when she was younger I was not concerned..but 17 months scares me.

He doesn't even sit on it and needs a diaper to go potty. When we stopped using diaper for 2 days, he used urinate here and there on the carpet and it looks like he still doesn't know when he needs to use tiolet. How can we get him potty trained. We need to send tohim to some preschool by March and we need to get him potty trained before that. Is there any videos or anything that could help him to develop an interest to get potty trained?

I am having my third in November, and attempting a VBAC after one vaginal and one c-section (transverse position)...My doctor believes in having the situation as controlled as possible, blood on hand/surgeons in bldg... As this is her protocal, she basically will induce-stretch my membranes and break my water. She also is the only doctor who can do VBAC's at my hospital, all others will do a c-section automatically. Inductions of any sort seem a bit controversial with VBAC's and I am just wondering for those women that have had a similar protocal followed with a VBAC how it went?
