On a scale of 1-10 would you please rate the following pain wise if you went through labor without the assistance of drugs? 10 being the most painful.

1. Contractions
2. Pushing the baby out
3. The episiotomy if you had one
4. Did you tear? If so how painful was that?
5. Soreness after birth

I'd really like to go natural and I'm just trying to get an average on what kind of pain I can expect. Thanks :)

and sometimes do weird movements. At one point, my daughter was crying because she wasn't feeling well and started shivering constantly....I thought she was having a seizure! I immediately took her to the dr. and her ped. told me what I said above. Anyone else experience this with their babies/ kids?

My kid got bit by a hamster the other day and I went out and bought a huge box of multi colored bandaids to fix her boo boo. Now, she feels the need to put one on every square inch of her body- even telling me she needs one on her tongue.

What is the obsession kids have with band aids?

now I am definately not one for unusual names. I especially dislike made up names like 'Shanniqua or Quaytashion' and names that no-one knows how to pronounce. However, last week I found out I am expecting a girl and the name Nevaeh (Heaven spelt backwards) has popped into my head and stuck with me. I like the name Chantel also but think it is too popular and don't know if I like it enough to use as a first name. Now what are people's opinions about Nevaeh? I don't want to give my child a name that will automatiically stereotype her as a problem child or someone who isn't intelligent, or not good enough for a particular job because of her name. So in your opinion, a name to use as a middle name and look for another or a name that can be used as a first but she'll still have the same equal opportunity as a female named Christina?

My last period was 50 days ago. My periods arent every 28 days i'd say between 30-35. I have been with my partner for almost a year now and we always have unprotected sex, we are not trying for a baby as such but if I became pregnant we would both be exstatic. I have recently become very tired and have had a few cramps and now i'm also feeling butterflies in my stomach. I haven't taken a test yet as when I thought I was pregnant before (I was 4 days late) I took the test and 20 minutes after doing so I had my period. Can anyone suggest anything or has anyone had any similar symptoms?

My boyfriend is so excited at the idea of being a dad one day i told him when i met him i didnt want children i do want them im just scared to death of being pregnant.
We are not planning on doing this for a good five years yet.
He went on and on at me about it trying to persuade me and i said ok and he was so happy it made me happy to see him happy if that makes sense.
But deep down i know i can't do it im scared of every aspect, getting big knowing once its happened there is no going back!
Id be scared of having a life inside me i know i shouldnt but it freaks me out abit.im scared of labour and what the whole process will do to my body, i am worried he wont fancy me anymore and will think of me as a mum rather than as attractive and id hate that. However i know once it was all over id love the baby its just pregnancy im scared of and now i cant go back because he thinks im happy with it.im also scared of breastfeeding is this normal?if its so natural why am i so agaisnt the idea?

so my husband and i arent trying to get pregnant right now, but if we do, we're ok with it. my question is - we had unprotected sex from the day i ended my period to 5 days before my suspected ovulation and had protected sex until 5 days after my ovulation. itsnot the most reliable method, but like i said, if we're meant to get pregnant, so be it. anyways, my period is due in a few days (about 3-4 days) and for the first time since my son was born, i peed twice during the night. i usually dont get up to go to the bathroom at ALL during the night. its been a while since the beginning of my pregnancy with my son and i forget if peeing more often starts this early or if its just later on. any help would be appreciated! i think its probably just a coincidence.

She goes down between 8:30 and 9:00, I am on complete bedrest and so cannot take her outside anymore. Ever since she was little she screamed for up to an hour every night. We tried going in every ten minutes to reassure and just ignoring it, we tried warm glasses of water and I know evil a glass of milk. Nothing worked. So 6 months ago I started singing when she started screaming hence the singing she now does. We have to leave a light on in the bathroom as she is terrified of the dark not sure why as she doesnt watch tv and we have never encouraged it. She takes a nap- she walks in and lays down no complaining, if we leave her bedroom light on she will play till tired and then go to bed with no complaints but I do not like leaving her room light on as I am asleep way before her at night, her room is gated and all doors are deadbolted. What do I need to be doing diff?

I was on birth control for about 4 months and hated every minute of it. I quit taking it about a week ago. My b/f and I had sex on Saturday and he came inside. Since late last night I have been spotting and having some mild cramps. Does anyone know what the bleeding and cramping mean. It didn't start until after we had sex. I am under some mild stress. Could I have gotten pregnant from Saturday, or is my cycle off from the pill and the sex just brought it on. Has anyone had something similar to this? If I could be prego, when would be the best time to take a test to see. Thanks for all your answers. It means a lot to me for your time!

My son has a very calm personality. He is not very aggressive. But given that he is smaller in size compared to his other classmates- he does often complains that others push him around. But overall i think he still tries and gets along with others. But last weel the Teacher called us and complained abt that "he bit someone in the class".
When asked he said that big kid was sitting on his mat and since he refused to get up- he bit him.
1) What should i tell him?
2) What should i tell the teacher?
3) What should i tell him- this way he can protect himself and not come out as a black sheep in the group or class?
4) How should i help him to deal with his anger and frustration?

Please could u answer all 4 questions seperately
thank you

I'm almost 39 weeks prego with my 2nd child. The last couple of days I've been having a little trouble urinating. I'll go a little then there will be a long pause, then I'll go some more. It doesn't burn but there is a little bit of pain. I've never had a urinary tract infection, so I'm not sure if that's what this is or if the baby is pressing on something making it harder to go. Anyone know or had experience with this?

Hi, my daughter is two years 2 months old, she recently decided going potty in the potty chair was the way to go and now pretty much never has an accident(it has been only 2 weeks) she brings me a diaper when she wishes to have a bowel movement and I put diapers on her at naps and bedtime. She takes them right back off though, we have tried everything to keep the doggone things on for bed, onesies sleepers and layering, we have also taped over the velcro straps but that just made her angry at us and after nap time she wouldnt talk to me for awhile. So how do I potty train her for bedtime? Obviously I need to. When is a good bedtime for her? we put her down at 8:30 - 9:00 but she sits and talks and sings for up to two hours on average sometimes as far as 4 hours. When do I stop with liquids for the night? Dehydration is not an issue we go through a gallon of milk in just about 2 days. How do I teach her it is okay to have a bowel on the toilet? she has two plastic potty chairs

I took a pregnancy test yesterday and at first I looked at it and went, "****, it's negative." But, of course, I couldn't leave it at that, I had to examine it at every angle, under every light, and, lo and behold, I could see something. But what? It didn't exactly seem to be a line. More like a shadow of a line, or possibly where the line is supposed to go if it were a positive test. I took another one this morning: same thing. This is frustrating! I know the "if there's any line at all you're pregnant" rule, but this line is so light I can't even tell if it's a line. For the first five minutes of examination I thought I was seeing things. It darkened up a bit (and by a bit I mean seeable to the blind eye now) as it dried, but after 10 minutes the test is considered invalid. My question is, I "saw" the line, or where it would be, before the 10 minute mark. So is it valid, or is it possible to see where a positive line would be on a negative test (under intense scrutiny)?
