now I am definately not one for unusual names. I especially dislike made up names like 'Shanniqua or Quaytashion' and names that no-one knows how to pronounce. However, last week I found out I am expecting a girl and the name Nevaeh (Heaven spelt backwards) has popped into my head and stuck with me. I like the name Chantel also but think it is too popular and don't know if I like it enough to use as a first name. Now what are people's opinions about Nevaeh? I don't want to give my child a name that will automatiically stereotype her as a problem child or someone who isn't intelligent, or not good enough for a particular job because of her name. So in your opinion, a name to use as a middle name and look for another or a name that can be used as a first but she'll still have the same equal opportunity as a female named Christina?

How about:

Diputs
Citoidi
Ratsnrop
Dratsab
Tuls
Suoedih

All of these names are words spelled backwards and aren't any more ridiculous that Nevaeh.

Maybe you should stick with a more traditional first name and save heaven spelled backward for a middle name you said so yourself you didn't particularly like people names you couldn't pronounce so you can imagine theres others in the world who fill the same way about those names. I honestly don't feel it would be a problem in the long run but if it bothers you on someone Else's child it will ultimately affect you long term.

Were you watching Flavor of love lately? Just a joke ,anyway I feel a name should mean something especially to mom and if you want you child who is your Heaven on earth to be called by that name for the rest of her life thats the perfect name for her. Its cute and I feel you on trying to give her as many equal opportunity assets as possible she will still be stereotyped at some time in her life because they're still ignorant people in the world but at least she won't be stereotyped because of her name. I don't know if this is your first child or not but if it is I want to tell you ,you are doing good always think ahead and it will make a better easier life for you and your child .Good job and Good luck!!!!

well, the past couple of years have opened doors to the unusual names. Look at celebs, giving their kids some seriously big names to live up to. Most people that i know who have kids are giving them unique names. With my son, we were torn on whether to give him a unique name or a traditional name. We took a poll among friends and family to see what they thought. We narrowed it down to four : 2 girl names ; Jenessa or Chelcy (like chelsea) and 2 boy names: Andrew Jr. or Bohdi. Can you guess which one we picked? So while it's trendy to make your kid's name stand out, it's important not to ostracize them with a weird name. Also, practice saying and writing the name out. If it's something you can't write or say easily, your child may have difficulty with it too. But overall I like the name, but the only issue is one of the contestants on Flavor of Love was an aspiring singer and her stage name was Nevaeh. She wasn't portrayed very well. Other than that, it's totally up to you!

I like Celia, it means heaven, rank 707 out of the top 1000 girl name last year
Nevaeh rank 43
It's a bad name, and popular
Chantel was rank 928

Christina was rank 128. I think in the last few years, people are naming their children Nevaeh, that it will be like Christina when they go to work
I like Crystal must better than Christina

You have it backwards

I agree with the first person to reply that its very cheesy. Don`t be surprised if 50 other girls at your kids' school are named ''Nevaeh''.... You should maybe find something nicer, I agree with going for something unique but i dont think that`s very unique sorry =S Its just weird and a word spelt backwards.

I think it's terrible. Especially when there is a perfectly good name Neve or Nieve which are similar but not made up.

Chantel is not great either, but not terrible.

How about:
Aaliyah Nevaeh
Akeelah Chantel
Charis Nevaeh
Chanel Nevaeh

I really don't think that names have that much of a stereo type. That being said, 1) Naveah is becoming more & more popular. 2)if you like the name Chantel what about Chanel (like the perfume- Chanel #5)? It has the same sound-just with a slightly different twist.

I think it's a trashy name, like somebody made it up trying to be creative and cute but it didn't quite work out.

You also don't need to point out that it is Heaven spelled backwards. We all know how to read.

Navaeh has been very popular lately. Why not go the more traditional route and just name her Heaven. It's not widely used and you don't have to explain it like with Navaeh.

You could als go with other names that mean heaven or something angelic like Cecilia or Angel or Angela
