I'm almost 39 weeks prego with my 2nd child. The last couple of days I've been having a little trouble urinating. I'll go a little then there will be a long pause, then I'll go some more. It doesn't burn but there is a little bit of pain. I've never had a urinary tract infection, so I'm not sure if that's what this is or if the baby is pressing on something making it harder to go. Anyone know or had experience with this?

The baby is moving things around and pressing on things at this point. I would mention the symptoms to your doc but don't worry. If you start to burn when you go then call the doc right away. Try drinking cranberry juice, this may help with some of the symptoms, but it is probably just the baby at this point. Good luck with the delivery.

Do you have a lot of lower abdomin cramping for 10 or 15 minutes after you pee? If so, that's a urinary tract infection. I had one and didn't know becasue I'd never had one during pregnancy before. They feel totally different when you aren't pregnant. I am sure you're going to the Dr every week now, so I would just have him check you for it next time you go so that you can get some antibiotics :)

I always found at the end of pregnancy when I wee'd that it never came out all at once and sometimes felt weird when it did. Because of the pressure too, the bladder is compressed and urinating can hurt (but not sting at the opening) higher up.

I would go to the doctor (you're probably due to see them soon anyway) and they can do a dip-stick test from a wee sample in the office and give you antibiotics if you need them. You would want to get it cleared up if it is a UTI because I'm not sure but maybe there could be a transfer of infection at birth if its not treated and you don't want baby starting out with an infection.

As many of the others have said sound like a UTI and you should see the Doc and I'm sure you are going at least weekly now. The doc will likely give you an anti for this, you could also drink plenty of cranberry juice at least one glass a day. It helps with this, also you get some C out of it and that never hurts any one. Good luck.

I am a person who has a long history of UTI'S. I am not pregnant, but I did have a UTI when I was pregnant at the end of my pregnancy. I am also a Medical Assistant who has worked hand-in-hand with doctors in many different specialties. First of all you never want to wait with a UTI. You need to call your Family Physician, or you OBGYN. Since you're pregnant your physician will be cautious as to what you're given as far as eliminating the symptoms you're having. Most UTI's accompany a very awkward smell to the urine, pressure to urinate every few minutes even if it's a few dribbles, a burning sensation when eliminating urine. Please contact one of your doctors immediately so that they can sample your urine in the office & get a diagnosis. If need be, they will send it out to a lab in order to specify the bacteria if indeed it's a UTI.

Having a uti might reason early labour, issues for you and as a worst case subject nonetheless delivery. I had an infection approximately 8 cases in my final trimester and that i had the best same indications you have. Everytime i became hospitalized and me and bub have been monitored. Dont delay circulate to the ER.

It sounds like a urinary tract infection - go see a doctor for antibiotics considering you are pregnant... or it will go away by itself (but probably not good considering you are about to give birth).

You are very close and dont want an infection when the baby is born so you need to see your doctor to make sure you dont have one.
