I am having my third in November, and attempting a VBAC after one vaginal and one c-section (transverse position)...My doctor believes in having the situation as controlled as possible, blood on hand/surgeons in bldg... As this is her protocal, she basically will induce-stretch my membranes and break my water. She also is the only doctor who can do VBAC's at my hospital, all others will do a c-section automatically. Inductions of any sort seem a bit controversial with VBAC's and I am just wondering for those women that have had a similar protocal followed with a VBAC how it went?

Just a clarification...induction is almost a sure thing, she is trying to prevent the onset of labor, as it would be less controlled. I am guessing she will induce 1-2 weeks before due date. She is going to start checking me at 35 weeks...

with any luck you won't need the inducement. Did you go into natural labor with your first baby? My sister had a v-bac, the only thing the dr insisted on was an IV is case she needed to have an emergency epidural, and internal monitoring. She delivered safely and easily, no complications at all. good luck!
