babys digestive system is not fully capable of handling cereal at such tender age. I believe between 4-5 months. You should ask your pediatrician. introducing babies to foods very slowly is great. breastmilk and formula is all they need for now.
good luck. god bless

The earliest is going be 4 months. But some doctors will tell you in between 4-6 months. And there has to be some signs that he/she is ready like:
They have doubled their birth weight
They know when they are full by turning away from bottle or breast
They are interested in what you eat. You can tel this by they watch you when you eat, cry if you eat, etc
They are drinking more then 6 oz. of formula/breast milk
And of course around the age of 4-6 months.
Best of luck and congratulations!

Your baby's doctor will have his/her own recommendation as to when to begin the introduction of solids. Generally, between 4-6 months is the most common age when babies begin solids. Each baby is different, however, and some are older than 6 months before they are ready. Nutritionally, babies do not need any solid food until around 6 months. Breast milk and/or formula contain all the nutrients needed by babies for proper growth and development. Any food introduced before 6 months should be for supplementation to the breast milk and/or formula.

The doctors say between 4-6 months but I stated my son at 3 months because he was a bigger baby and bottles and breastmilk where just not doing it any more. Dont try it that young they have to be able to sit up by them selves and sollow when you put it in there mouth

Wait at least until 4 months. APP recommend nothing but breastmilk and/or formula til 6 months but it essentially is up to you. If at 4 months you think your child is ready give it a try. I really would recommend waiting until then. Their systems are so sensitive and the longer you go the better developed they'll be.

usually it is 6 months. Sometimes the Dr will tell you to start at 4 months. Don't start anything till your baby goes back to the Dr for the next well visit & they will tell you when, how much & what to start next. They will tell you at each well visit what to start, so don't give anything yet. Your baby probably goes back at 4 months, right? Wait till then & talk to them about it.
Good luck and congrats on the little one!
