first, if you're wondering if the amniotic fluid is leaking, have it checked. once it start to leak, they want you in the hospital with in a certain time frame. this is b/c of the possibility of infection.
induction hurts but so does natural labor. you're having a baby. there are ways to combat the pain. they'll probably offer you an epidural block if there's time. take it and you'll feel nothing but pressure. it does make pushing a bit difficult though

If your pants are wet - get checked out right away.

The water is what keeps everything sterile in there. If you are leaking water, guess what...you're going to have that baby in the next day or so, whether or not you start labour on your own.

It is vital that you get checked, and tell them about the leakage, as there is a risk of infection the longer you let it go if your water has been leaking.

If it's just urine...normal...

I love the 'lazy' thing. Like she's laying back and drinking a beer in there...good grief.

Induction can make labour more intense, but it's pretty darned intense no matter how it starts.

Congratulations and good luck!!

I think they should have kept you there. I was 5 centimeters dilated 1 month before my son was born and every week they sent me back home. I was not having contractions though. Anyway when I did go into labor my son was born 45 minutes later. That is counting from the very first contraction to the time of his birth. Thankfully I just made it to the hospital. Well I just told you that for a little warning because that was totally unexpected for me and it was kind of scary when I thought I was going to have him in the car. Good luck and I agree that you should get out and walk, help the baby move down but be ready to jump in the car! Good luck.

no induction is not painful all it does is the medicine they use help u start to contract just as if u were having a baby on ur own. think of it like this is u were having it on ur own it mite hurt anyway , why not have something help u go faster along. pus i think its good u closer to seeing ur baby with out inducing u dont no when the next time u will see him or her

I thought it seemed more painful because the pains came on much faster than natural. Here's a tip... have an epidural! I got an epidural when the Pitocin kicked in and it was great! Contrary to the opinion you get from "natural birth" proponents, it's absolutely fabulous to be comfortable and not in pain with the baby comes.

you likely have a small tear in your bag of waters. that's why your underwear gets wet. you want to wear a pad or something because that part could get worse.

induction itself isn't painful, but contractions can be stronger when a woman is on pitocin instead of just having natural contractions. seeing as how this will be all you know, don't worry about it. you can get the epidural and it won't matter at that point anyway.

No the induction itself is not painful, it is the contractions that follow which will make you think the world is ending. Just try hard to remember that you will survive and you will forget the pain as soon as you hold your beautiful baby!!!

the wet you are having maybe a slow leak of the water sac.... that happened to me with my second one. an internal exam will tell you if you have a rupture of the membranes. Induction doesn't hurt. its a intervenes put in your hand ( i think hand) and its just a drip med. the pain will come when contractions do and when you have to start pushing... gl to you

You'll have 3rd stage contractions every minute or so. Feels like menstrual cramps. Lamaze was very helpful for me with my induction.
