I just found out Friday that I'm going to another baby. I had to see my doctor early because I had a stroke last year so it will put me in the high risk pregnancy catagory. She did an internal ultrasound but couldn't see the baby. She said I'm prob. just very early pregant, prob. about 4 weeks pregnant. How soon can the baby be detected on any ultrasound. Any info. would be helpful. I'm driving myself crazy over this. Thanks.

I would like to throw a nice small family Birthday party for my 1st born son who's turning 1 in Feb. I'm going to invite my parents, my sister and brother + their kids and my husband parents, his three sisters and kids. So it's really about 17 people total. I need ideas for food and entertainment. I would like the food to be something all guest and the guest of honor can enjoy. The entertainment needs to follow along the same path. (By the way he only has two bottom teeth.) Oh, we want it to be held at our house. Ummm... his cousins range from 5 - 15 years of age. So do you have any ideas?

I am 36 weeks and my OB checked my cervix yesterday, I was 3cm dilated and 90% effaced. After my exam, I was bleeding a lot. He said it was most likely from him checking me and the cervix being so senstive with lots of blood vessels. The bleeding was heavy yesterday, and I had some blood clots last night. I called one of the nurses and she didn't seem concerned. Over night I couldn't sleep because I had constant low back pain and dull aches in my abdomen, I haven't noticed any contractions as of yet or if I have, I can't tell the difference between them and normal baby movement. I've been a little nautious (burping alot) and have gas. My bleeding atleast has slowed down this morning. Does it sound like I am going into labor soon?

I posed a question here regarding the discipline of my 16 year old son. I am a firm believer in spanking but a lot of you seemed to think it is inappropriate to spank bare bottom at his age. It got me thinking if I might be harming him psychologically. I approached him about it. He said he agreed he probably deserved to be spanked on occasion but was very embarrassed for me to see him naked. The last thing I want to do is humiliate my son so I've permitted him to wear briefs for future spankings. I can still monitor the redness so I know I don't overdo it by pulling the briefs up in back before the spanking. Kind of a thong effect. He gets to protect his modesty in front and I can still get to the bottom of his misbehavior. Seems to me like a reasonable compromise. Thoughts?

A close fiend asked me a question I could not answer. She has taken a pain killer (vikoden) because of an agonizing toothache. 10 days ago she had unprotected sex and fears what if she's pregnant. (she is feeling so guilty but could not handle the pain) If by some chance she is pregnant since 10 days is to early to tell. Will that one pill do any harm? I don't kknow what to tell her and she is a sweet girl. Please help!

Okay i was on the pill for a few years and last month i stopped taking it. I had my period right around christmas and everything was fine. My husband ans I only had sex once unprotected around the 10th or so. I still haven't had my period yet though. I took a test 3 days ago and it came up negative. I have been cramping like i would when i am getting ready to have my period but nothing comes. I have no other symptoms really , no breast soreness or anything like that. My friends say that is most likely just my body getting used to not takin the pill anymore. I have never missed a period once.

Could i be pregnant?

I heard that a HPT won't become positive until about 4 weeks pregnant that is when the hcg horomone start producing, I was just a little curious, and also will a doctor urine test come out positive as well ( how ealry can they dectect the hormone)? Thanks for the answers!

I just answered a question on gay parents adopting children.. I am curious to know what people on here think about polyamorous couples raising children. I guess i am mostly curious about what those who are in favor of gay couples raising children think, as I already know what all the other people are going to say.

I for one find no problem with it, just as i have no problem with gay couples adopting or having their own children through a surrogate parent.

My two month old has been sleeping great in her crib at night and then all of a sudden she is getting this stuffy nose every time she lays down in her crib. She is finer during the day but when night come and she has to lay on her back in the crib she has trouble breathing. I do not want her to get used to sleeping in her bouncer (that is what she has been doing the last two nights) and the humidifer just seems to make the room chilly. Any Suggestions? Thanks!

so he has left it that i see my midwife in 2 wks and see what she thinks. his answer was the baby could just be small.
but the measurments have not changed in 4/5wks since my last visit, but heartbeat is strong and movements are fine!!!
should i worry?
has anyone else had small measurements but the baby been ok?
i just read online that the uterus should match the # of wks you are and i should be 32/33 wks.
