A close fiend asked me a question I could not answer. She has taken a pain killer (vikoden) because of an agonizing toothache. 10 days ago she had unprotected sex and fears what if she's pregnant. (she is feeling so guilty but could not handle the pain) If by some chance she is pregnant since 10 days is to early to tell. Will that one pill do any harm? I don't kknow what to tell her and she is a sweet girl. Please help!

no she's fine. it takes up to two weeks for an embryo to form once conception has taken place. tell her not to worry.

I didn't find out I was pregnant until I was 2 months along, I was at my partying stage and I was.... well..... partying, from drinking and taking pain killers..... tell your friend not to worry, there shouldn't be any problems and to find out if she is pregnant as soon as possible, if she has any further pain she should stick to regular strenght tylenol.... as far as for the toothache, have her go see a dentist asap... I used to be a dental assistant and it sounds like if she's in that much pain, she might have to get a root canal, but if she's she feels she might be pregnant, make sure to let the doctor know so that they don't do any x-rays on her... if she doesn't take care of her tooth now, it will be more serious later and she could loose the entire tooth. but tell her not to worry about taking the vicodin, i did worse during my pregnancy and i have a beautiful perfect child. I doubt it, but that's really a question for a doctor.
Also, she should see a dentist about the toothache. Toothaches aren't normal, especially to the point that you need narcotics (which vicodin is) to handle the pain. If she is pregnant, she needs to get that taken care of asap.

I read Natural Childbirth the Bradley Way. It even contains the exercises you need to practice. I also read The Brewer Medical Diet for Normal and High-Risk Pregnancy. I followed the Brewer diet when I was pregnant. I used the Bradley method with all four of my births. I also read Husband Coached Childbirth, but that book does not contain what you need to practice to get ready for birth.

That 1 pill is not going to affect the baby if she is pregnant. I have been prescribed vicoden before with my 2nd pregnancy. Everything was fine. My son is a healthy biy. Tell her not to worry.

i think i would be better if she visit a dentist,and tell that she think she is pregnant but is not sure so that she can give her some medicine for the pain that would not harm the pregnancy,but i think at this time no harm can be seen ,but it is always better to consult an expert to be on the safe side

i dont think that one pill can harm her.. well how old is she first of all? but year 10 days is to early to see if she's preg. or not so maybe she should take a test..

i dont think she has anything to worry about especially if shes not even sure shes pregnant i took alot of prescribed medication while i was pregnant(they were my prescriptions) and they never ahd any affect on my kids and usually one pill doesnt make any difference.tell her she has no reason to feel guilty

It will not do anything to the baby but don't let her take any more until she is sure that she isn't pregnant, because one will not do anything but a couple will probably hurt the fetus or baby.

Probably not, but find out if she is pregnant first. If she isn't, then she doesn't have anything to worry about. If she is, she should talk to her doctor if she wants to know a professional's opinion.
