I heard that a HPT won't become positive until about 4 weeks pregnant that is when the hcg horomone start producing, I was just a little curious, and also will a doctor urine test come out positive as well ( how ealry can they dectect the hormone)? Thanks for the answers!

I took one when I was about 3 weeks pregnancy and it was negative. then I waited two weeks and took one and it was positive. i guess it depends on your body and your hcg production.

I know at the health department their tests will show if you are pregnant or not 10 days after conception. Proablt the same goes at the doctor office.
A blood test will show if you are 7 days following conception.
If you do not chart or monitor your fertility in any way, and you think you may have conceived, you should wait 19 days (or longer) after having sex to test. Why 19?! Sperm can live approximately 5 days in the proper environment; if the sperm managed to live until you popped an egg, the actual conception could have taken place several days after the sex act that got the sperm there. To make sure you're not testing too early, assume the sperm had very long lives (5 days is considered a very long sperm life) and that conception occurred then. Then allow 14 days for the embryo to implant and develop enough hCG to show up on a pregnancy test (96% of pregnant women will test positive by then.)

With my second pregnancy I tested positive at 3 weeks pregnant. But my others I was at least 4 weeks. It just depends on how much of the hormone your body is producing.

A home test is reliable at 14 days past ovulation so if you have regular 28 day cycles then 4 weeks from your last menstral period you can get an accurate result. Pregnancies are usually dated from last menstral period. Doctor's urine tests are the exact same thing you can buy in the store. However, a blood test you can get done at your drs will show pos. about a week sooner than urine.

i have had a test come back positve after only two weeks. i guess it all depends on how much HCG your body produces. some women have to wait longer then others i guess i just got lucky!! cause i know when it comes to pregnancy i am VERY impateint!! good luck

It COULD, but if you're not sure you should get a blood test. They will pick up the hcg sooner than any urine test. Best of luck.
