Yes. Studies have shown that Caffeine can lead to infertility in women. I am TTC and OB/GYN has givne me a diet to go by. No caffeine or alchol, and has me taking prenatal vitamins.
There have been several studies that present conflicting information about caffeine use during pregnancy, impairing fertility and causing birth defects.
Most practitioners will tell you to err on the side of caution and avoid caffeine or cut back on your caffeine intake.
They agree that while trying to achieve a pregnancy, during pregnancy or while breastfeeding you should try to limit caffeine consumption to about 300 mg per day. However, there are very few people who can tell you how much caffeine that is, partially because of hidden sources of caffeine.
While much of the caffeine and pregnancy studies focus on effects during pregnancy, there are some studies that indicate that caffeine can affect women even before they become pregnant. Some studies indicates that women who consume more than a cup of caffeine a day may have difficult conceiving - these women are twice as likely to take a year or longer to become pregnant.

it may not have an effect on the speed of conception, but studies have shown that it does have an effect on the probability of conception. caffeine constricts blood vessels, limiting blood supply to the womb (and other areas of the body). It would actually be a good idea, especially if you and the father to be are 35 or older, to either cut back dramatically or completely. And yes, both of you would benefit, as the constriction of blood vessels also applies to the male reproductive system - low blood supply could mean low/poor quality sperm supply...
try half caff products or decaffeinated to wean yourself off. who knows, you might benefit in other ways as well (better sleep at night, more hydrated skin, etc...)
best of luck to you.

Actually... Yes! I have heard that it could be harmful. I can't remember where I saw it... but the other day I was looking info up on the net and it said that for women, it would be best to cut caffeine out and that your male partner could still have his caffeine and be ok. (SO NOT FAIR IF YOU ASK ME) But I did read about it. GOOD LUCK ON YOUR FUTURE BABY!!!!

If you are having trouble conceiving then I'd give it up, however I am pregnant for #5 and managed to do so on my entire-pot-of-coffee-a-day habit each time so drinking tons of coffee obviously didn't stop things from happening. Of course I switched to decaf AFTER I became pregnant.

I'm a coffee-a-holic but more than that a conscientious person and MOM. The verdict is that less than 10 ounces a day does no harm. Can you stick to 1 cup?
