Pregnancy & Parenting - 9 January 2007

I have been trying to conceive for two months and this month my period was five days late, but I still received the regular flow...because my period was late, am I any closer to being pregnant, how long will it take until I am pregnant..Any suggestions on how to become pregnant...I am taking pre-natal vitamins and having sex when I am ovulating

McKenzie is a Scottish surname. The Mc part means "son of."

So, why on Earth would someone call their daughter McKenzie?

My 8 week old daughter has a cold. You can tell she doesn't feel well, and want's to be held. The only way she will sleep is in her car seat because she is so stuffy. I have been "sucking out her nose". We were just at the doctor yesterday and she got 4 shots. We have been giving her tylenol to help with the pain. Today she took a bottle at 6:30 AM and hasn't eaten again. It has now been 7 1/2 hours. Is this okay? She has slept through the night but has never gone more than 6 hours. Please help! Should I call the doctor?

there is this guy who lives up here and he was going with this girl named Stacey and they had a baby and the boy is only 17 and Stacey is like in her 20's and i dont really like stacey at all but some bad stuff happened to her baby. The father of stacey's baby killed the BABY!! he overdosed the baby on depression pills and "weed".it was really bad. the baby jsut stopped breathing and they had to take the baby to the hospital and she was put on life support but like a day later died....but stacey she is REALLY abusive and controlling but i dont know what would cause Andre' (that's the boys name) to KILL a baby! he's in holding up in the uptown jail now and this was like a week ago.... and now stacey wants me to come to court with her and testify against him.....like i know that i should go because i would want the same for me if it happened to me....but the guy is like my BEST friend and i dont want to do that to him! what do i do?

new shoes for your child? I swear every three months I'm buying my 8 year old new shoes. That's dress shoes [he has things that he has to dress nicely for] and then tennis shoes. If it is winter then that means boots too, or sandels in the summer. Do you have to buy shoes that often? My son keeps out growing them! I am afraid by the time he turns 10 his feet will be twice as long as his body [not really, just a slight over the top!]

I'm a 19 year old girl looking for advice on what to do with my second unwanted pregnancy. Before you judge and tell me how stupid I am, I was on birth control this second time. The first time my boyfriend and I were not careful, and that pregnancy ended in miscarriage. I had made the decision to have hte baby and I was crushed when I lost it, even though I was not ready. Now, 6 months later and on birth control, I somehow find myself pregnant again. My doctor told me I would be safe unless I missed a pill, which I did not. So i find myself in teh same situation but havn't told anybody. I don't knwo what to tell my mom and friends who knew the first time around. I'm really stressing out and thinking of not having it because I don't knwo if i could put everyone though that stress again, including myself and my boyfriend (of 3 years). Any advice on how I should handle this is appreciated..... Thanks..

no matter what time i put him down he never falls asleep before 9:30 and i have to get up at 5:45 for work. he cries the hold time and screams when i drop him off at daycare. he begs me to let him sleep.

My husband and I are in a constant battle over what our responsibilities are to each other and as parents. We have 3 children. All of which are girls, who are 3 years old and then we have 9 month old twins. I stay at home everyday with them while he goes to work. He works 40 hours a week at his job. I feel like I work non-stop. I cook, clean, feed, bathe, change, dress, comfort, and play with our three children all day long. I also clean the house, cook meals, try to budget our money, and get groceries. I don't get lunch breaks, or to just get off work. He doesn't feel that he should have to come home and help right when he gets home. He wants to take a shower and watch tv. He will help out sometimes, but I have to ask him or tell him what to do. He also goes to bed everynight at around 8 or 8:30 and I am left up to get everyone bathed, and in bed. I think that we should have equal responsiblities when he gets home from work? I feel like I have been working all day too. AM I RIGHT?

my brother says he was born in the wrong century, he lives in a ranch, with no running water, no electricity (has a well and uses solar panels) and tames horses. His wife cans and bakes and quilts. They have 4 children, ages ranging from 8 weeks to 13 years. Now they decided they need to home-school teir kids! what are the pros and cons of this? Any thoughts?

My best friend works with me and she knows I am pregnant. One of our co-workers thinks I am pregnant. My co-worker sits next to me and told my friend that she thinks I am pregnant because she noticed I haven't been feeling well, that I am too tired to go for walks with her, and that I cancelled my Vegas trip because I didn't feel like going anymore.

My friend blew the whole thing off and the co-worker believes that my friend doesn't think I am pregnant, but what do I do if she says something to me?

I am 9 weeks pregnant and don't want my co-workers to know I am pregnant until I am 12 to 16 weeks along. This is my first pregnancy so I am waiting until I feel the baby is more safe.

How do I handle a co-worker with suspicions? Should I pretend to feel better?

We'd been trying for a baby for about 20 months. Both has tests, I was fine but partner had low sperm count. He'd already cut down on alcohol and was eating healthily and excercised reg. [or should I say, we both had!] he also wore boxers etc, but nothing worked. As a last resort he tried acupuncture. He had to go once a week and the lady also have him some tablets to take everyday. 2 1/2 months after he started the acupuncture, I was pregnant! Now nearly 10 weeks and looking forward to my first scan in 3 weeks time. So, it may take time but if it can happen to me it can happen to you too! Good luck to everyone who is trying to conceive, whether they are experiencing problems or not xxxx
