If you have sex like 3 times a day, have him leave sperm in side of you for like 15 minutes before you clean up. It will help a lot, my do gave me that advise and on a Wed. I was no where, but after 2 days I was dilated to 3 1/2 soft cervix, everything was great. The key is to leave sperm in side you for a while before cleaning up!

Have plenty of sex. There's a chemical in the semen that softens the cervix and activates labor.

Well, if you're talking about that you're pregnant, and you want to soften your cervix to deliver the baby later........is this your question? If it is.......then don't worry. As the baby develops and comes nearer the due day, the cervix will thin out....then your labor will start and it'll start dialating all by itself. I hope I answered your question. Best of luck to you.

Walk, sex, and Plenty of water was what I was told. Yes, sex really helps, something in the sperm softens it.
