there is this guy who lives up here and he was going with this girl named Stacey and they had a baby and the boy is only 17 and Stacey is like in her 20's and i dont really like stacey at all but some bad stuff happened to her baby. The father of stacey's baby killed the BABY!! he overdosed the baby on depression pills and "weed".it was really bad. the baby jsut stopped breathing and they had to take the baby to the hospital and she was put on life support but like a day later died....but stacey she is REALLY abusive and controlling but i dont know what would cause Andre' (that's the boys name) to KILL a baby! he's in holding up in the uptown jail now and this was like a week ago.... and now stacey wants me to come to court with her and testify against him.....like i know that i should go because i would want the same for me if it happened to me....but the guy is like my BEST friend and i dont want to do that to him! what do i do?

Just go and tell the truth as you know it. Tell facts only, not just things that you heard from someone else, but only things that you actually observed yourself. No one can fault you for telling the truth.
Stacey may have been abusive and controlling, but that is no excuse for Andre to hurt or kill a baby. He may be mentally ill to do a thing like that and probably needs psychiatric help.

To be honest no matter how much you dont like stacey I think You shouldn't even consider being best friends with a guy that could do something like that to his own child shows what he would do to you who is just a friend Id say go testify for the babies sake and the mothers closure.

Let me guess you heard that Stacy is abusive from Andre. Second you left out the fact that Andre even had weed and anti depresive meds. That should tell you Stacy is not the only one with a control issue or any issue period. Take a look at it in the persective that there both wrong, but Andre killed an inocent baby and of all things his own. HE DRUGED a baby I say testify to the truth and find better friends.

Wow, that is just terrible. I honestly dont know though why you would think twice about testifying if you really would make a difference of if this fella walked or not. He did a terrible thing and he needs to pay for it. I understand he is your best friend, but the way i look at it, you have a civil duty as well. Explain to him its nothing personal, but you have an obligation to tell your story. He was wrong and he knows it. He will understand and if he doesnt understand your position and decides to hold it against you, he wasnt your friend after all. Good luck to you.

Wake up call!! Your so called best friend is a baby killer! go to court with stacey and get him put away! If you don't you won't be able to live with the guilt. time for a change of friends i think!

No matter who the person is, friend or not you have information in the death of a CHILD and this child has no voice other than the people that know the truth and you are one of those people that has to speak up for the child.You have already said you would want the same thing if it happened to you. A CHILD needs you to be there for them, you can do this as you have the truth on your side.

there's a baby involved. if you know that she's abusive and he's not so squeeky clean then you owe it to that baby to speak up and say something. you might lose two friends in the process but it's worth it. i've called child protector services on my own sister because she wasn't treating my niece right so i'd testify against a friend. babies are innocent. they both need to go to jail.

I don't care if the guy was your brother...A BABY JUST DIED... be more concerned for getting justice for that innocent baby that didn't ask neither one of the parents to be here. So yes you should go to court and tell everything you know. What if that was your baby. Please think about that. I hope you make the right decision. Tell the Truth. If you don't, you are just as guilty as the 2 parents. I'd also suggest getting new friends. People who abuse children are the lowest of the low. When these two get to prison, they'll get whats coming to them. People who abuse children are regularly beaten and abused in prison. I hope they both rot in prison. What the hell is wrong with people?
