i think that it just depends on your pregnancy really, and if you have complications. i am almost at 36 weeks and i have only been poked with a needle twice. there will be more when i go into haveing her im sure of that, but as of now its only been twice. my pregnancy has been REALLY good, aside from the aches and pains, which are normal, i havent had any complcations.

Ok well your first visit. your 20th week visit. your gestational diabetes visit and i think once more. i haven't gotten any farther. but I'm 34 weeks and have had my blood taken 3 times. if you have to get an amino then you'll get a huge needle through the belly.

Only a blood test and maybe a few shots - in the first one or two doctor visits, but that stops quickly - they just want to make sure you're okay.

I think it is only like 5 or 6 times, not including labor.

As for doctors visits once every four weeks till 30 weeks then every two weeks till 36 weeks then once a week till you deliver.
