My wife and I want to try for our second child. Our first was a boy and we hope to get girl this time. I heard of crazy "methods" of trying to improve on getting a certain sex but does any of them really work?

My daughter is potty trained! she goes all day long by herself, no fuss no hassle, But doesnt tell me when she needs to go she just takes herself to the potty and goes. She is in day care 2 days a week due to me working and has to wear a nappy on these days as she doesnt tell anyone that she needs to go. Its great that she goes and its excellent not having to use nappies anymore. Any sugestions on how i can encourage her to tell me when she needs to go?

Surely the root cause of the problem can be sorted out or does anyone think differently? I also think this doctor should be struck off.

My friends child who is 2 has head lice. She goes to a daycare. Well, she has already treated her hair about a week ago and removed all the nits and lice. She said she got all of them out. Well, her child has been scratching her head alot and noticed that she has head lice again but not as many nits as there was before. This time there were moving lice. She treated her again last night and has noticed this morning that there were still some moving lice in her hair. She dont send her daughter to that daycare anymore. She stays with her grandmother. But she was wanting to know if she could get a different kind of treatment from the doctor and use it once she gets it. Also, she has already washed everything in her house that in washable. But the net says that she has to tie up all the stuffed animals in a airtight garbage bag for 2 weeks. She was wondering how long it would take to kill the lice and nits without being tied up and her daughter didnt touch any of them.

We will be sitting at the dinning room table and he will start laughing and can't l stop. He 1st starts to say "my friend is so funny" but I think this is a cover up? then he laughs really hard looking at the dog but the dog is just sitting there doing nothing. He usually does this when he is having his bed time snack. Not too worried about it, just wondering if anyone has kids that does this.

I've decided that I'm ready to start trying to conceive. But I'm not sure on how to bring this up to my boyfriend, he lost a child several years ago and I think this may be a bit touchy for him. Also he's 38 and I'm worried that he may think he's too old. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Tomorrow (actually today, I can't sleep) my husband and I are taking our 2 year old daughter to Disneyland for her 2nd birthday. I have heard horror stories about taking young toddlers to Disneyland, but I have also heard good stories too. She doesn't really scare easily, so I'm not too worried about that, she isn't shy, BUT she is VERY active and doesn't like to sit/stand still, even for short periods. This concerns me when it comes to waiting in line, because I know you can't bring a stroller in line. Just the other day at a bakery we had to wait in line for about 10 minutes and she didn't want us to hold her (was like pushing herself off of us) and when it came to standing in line she would for a minute or so but then got sick of holding our hands and kept trying to run off. We are strict with her, but she has a speech delay and isn't talking much yet, so it's a challenge. Any advice or suggestions for how to make our day run as smoothly as possible?? Thanks!

My daughter and her friend are in an afterschool program together.Yesterday they needed to use the restroom but they lock them up after hours. Anyways...the leader of the program escorted them to the main office bathroom where the secretary unlocked it. My daughter went in first....washed her hands...then her friend went in after . Now....the secretary claims that one of them pooped in the bathroom sink. I'm positive that my daughter did not do this but I can't prove it. Any advice?

My toddler who recently turned 3 years old has become increasingly annoying. She wants to sleep with me and her father in the same bed, goes to bed very very late (she is still trying to play when the adults have gone to sleep), wakes up before the rooster and demands breakfast (she sleeps much less than most humans), does not allow me to close doors, she eats her mucous but wont eat anything remotely healthy, cries and whines, points out sores that are months old and demands they be kissed.

While this may seem like an attempt for attention, she already gets plenty of time together. I'm exhausted and I don't know what else to do.

I love my child but I believe I may have to start introducing other forms of discipline like smacking. Currently she has time out and I've even tried ignoring her.

I don't want to ever regret my decisions. I really need guidance from other parents with experience
