My wife and I want to try for our second child. Our first was a boy and we hope to get girl this time. I heard of crazy "methods" of trying to improve on getting a certain sex but does any of them really work?

Whether a child will be a boy, or girl is always by chance., and it is always 50/50. Forget about what those claims say about mehods to increase the chances of getting what you want.

Well the one method that I constently come across is have sex 2 days before her ovulation. They say girl sperm are slower and take longer to get to the egg so the 2 day advance gives them better odds were as if you have sex the day before or the day of ovulation the boys swim faster and make it down there first. So if shes keeping track of her ovulation then try that. I really think that that's true because me and my daugthers father had sex like maybe a week before my menses didn't think anything of a baby, an at that time menses came an everything but there she was. So That method is very possible.

it is said that if you want a girl you should have sex about 2 and a half days before the woman's ovulation date and i think that this method works a few of my friends have testified to this but since i dont have a regular flow i cannot really work with this method and know for myself

yes the 2 days befor ovulation has a huge sucess rate.... the reason behind it is..... basically.... the female sperm live aprox 2 -3 days longer than the male sperm... so in theroy by having sex 2 days before ovulation by the time the sperm reach the egg most if not all the male sperm would have died leaving only female
