Pregnancy & Parenting - 1 November 2006

I am 7 weeks pregnant and my hormones are out of control. I cry for no reason and for every reason. I just can't stand it. I cry at work, I cry at home. My husband thinks I am insane. Any suggestions of how to get my emotions in check. Relaxation techniques or something.

I can't concentrate at work and I'm making stupid mistakes that are totally uncharacteristic of me. Around noon or so it's like I snap out of it and I'm good for the rest of the day, but what can I do to help in the morning? I used to drink a cup of coffee but here lately that's been making me sick. Suggestions please!

I'll start by saying that I have already called my doctor and will be seen in 2 hours... so I don't need any "call your doctor answers"... I am simply asking out of curiosity that anyone has experienced this.
I will be 34 weeks pregnant on Friday... My legs and feet were very swollen yesterday.. last night while walking to take my son trick or treating my feet and legs became numb to the point I almost fell because I could NOT control my legs to walk. The swelling has since gone down but now I have a very intense pain in my lower abdemon, groin, and vagina. It does NOT feel like contractions, but the pain started in the middle of the night and has not gone away... Also the baby is moving at least 3 times the amount that he normally moves... He has been going non-stop for hours.
Anyone else experience any of these issues? What did it turn out to be? I am mostly interested to hear from any one that has experienced pain similar to what I am feeling.

my gf was on her last days of her periods, we had sex, but not inside, she is afraid that my precum touched or contacted her private part (ok lets say it did) even after we had this intimate time she went to the toilet because of her periods ,and in the next day too she said she had her periods, can she be pregnant ?

Do most young adults(age 18+) help out with rent? At what age should parents charge rent? At what age should young adults be completely independent, as in living on their own, having no help from mom or dad, having their own insurance etc. Living in a dorm room where mom or dad pay tuition does not count.

She thinks she has a better relationship with our mother in law, and talks to her like they are the best of friends. My mother in law told me she can't stand her. I can tell my sister in law in trying to get underneath my skin. She even asked me what do I do at home, since I stay at home. I have two children and she said that sarcastically. I went over her house for the first time and she said her bed was bigger than mines...What I said and in my head I was thinking do I really care? My bed is the biggest one out there, and she is telling me about my bed...OKAY....She said her house was dirty, when it was clean as a whip. She stays at my inlaws big house when they go out of town and she takes care of the dog. They drove my inlaws nice cars around and make themselves feel at home, and invitied us to come over like it was their house. I love my house, I wouldn't want to stay at someone else's house. They have a nice apartment also. How to I respond to her negative ways?

I don't know if anyone agrees, but sometimes I look at the questions and answers on here and get frustrated. It seems like so many parents nowadays try to be their childrens "friend" or "equal". Does anyone understand that we need to PARENT our children? Create rules and boundaries? Punish firmly and consistantly when these boundaries are crossed? I love my children dearly, but I don't believe that letting them rule the roost or coddling them is setting them up for success in the future. I love my children, so I discipline them, TEACH them. Our prison systems are full of children that lived without limits and respect and have grown into adults that live what they have learned. What do you think?

I remember years and years ago back in high school, during sex education classes, my teacher tested the strength on comdoms. He pulled it, stetched it, blew it up into a huge balloon, etc. It didn't break at all. All these people who claim their condom broke, what on earth were they doing?

Hello everyone, is it possible to be pregnant with out any obvious sings like nauseas, and fainting. I spotted 3 weeks ago(2 days very light) , i had tender breast for a week, and felt pretty tired for two weeks, then my period came after i was 4 days late? Should i still test for pregnancy even though my period came and my breast are not tender anymore? what do you guys suggest me to do? Should i do a blood test? or those urine test? I am 39 weeks pregnant and my doctor told me that on friday if i was 2 cm then she could induce labor for me, well I am not there yet, its not friday yet but i prolly wont be there by then is there a way that anyone knows that works to induce labor at home without getting sick/hurting the baby?? I am ready to have her and would love to have some good ideas.

I am 40 1/2 weeks pregnant and I went to the doc. on monday to have an ultrasound to check on the baby. They said that he was 8lbs and had plenty of fluid and already head down and ready to come. They schedualed me to be induced for the 8th because I havent been progressing. I am 1cm dilated for a month now and I have walked myself until I thought I would drop and still nothing. I have also had sex (softly because it kind of hurts) and nothing. So monday the doc. tried to stretch my cervix to get things going and Im beginning to think he did. I walked a lot yesterday and last night I started having really sharp pains in my pelvic area that shot all the way down to my cervix it felt. So bad I couldnt hardly walk. They started to ease up so I walked some more and done nipple stimulation which got them to keep up. They wouldnt last though and eventually I ended up falling asleep. Now this morning when I stand up I feel the same pains off and on and really bad when he moves around.

I need to hear other peoples stories. I am 34 weeks and 5 days pregnant. I started loosing my plug sunday night after having menstrual like cramping for three days prior and spending the whole weekened shopping for the last things needed before babies arrival and winter shirts for me and my boyfriend. So, i was pretty active. I went to doc on monday, he said im not dialated nor effaced. I started cramping a little more intensily w/ no consistency yesterday, and out of no where just got really tired. What is going on..
Who has experinced similar symptoms?

When did you end up going into labour?

When is it safe to consider yourself out of the "danger" zone as far as miscarriages? Is there a certain week you reach that your chances become very slim? Ive had 2 healthy pregnancies (for the most part) and no miscarriages but of course it still crosses my mind.....when is that milestone???? Thanks!!!!

I need to know if anyone has had this b 4 , i am on my 4th child , all my prenancies i was so violently ill it was horrible , this pregnancie i may get sick everyother day , but not near as bad as the last .. is this normal ?, to be so sick with priors and nothing all of a sudden? My sister has a 10 yr old son and a 21 mnth old girl. The girl goes to bed at 7pm and wakes up at 7am. She wants to have time out with husband and was wondering if it would be wrong to put the baby to bed and have the 10yr old listen for the baby. If something went wrong the son could call her. She says she trusts her son to do nothing else but watch TV/ gameboy. And the baby can't get hurt in the crib. What do you think I should advise her to do. Without being condisending.
