Yesterday i was at the supermarket with my 3 yr old son and a mother whacked her boy because he smacked his younger sibling, she then replied with "you dont have the right to smack"! What is the world coming to? Why do parents feel the need to physically harm their children? I believe they have lost control and think this is the way to go, but it breaks my heart. These children will grow up thinking smacking will get the result they want! They will hit other children too! Please inform me as to why parents smack, whats the need? Do the parents feel bad afterwards? if so why do it in the first place? Would you like to be hit if you did something wrong? I think the answer is NO, so please dont hit our future generation, lets put a stop to this NOW!

My daughter is 17 months old and when she goes round her grandmas (my mam) house she gets given jars of baby food for dinner instead of a sandwich or something else. My mam said she doesnt have time to make a meal for her at dinner time but at tea time she does make something because her and my brother are having something.
I have told her im not happy with that situation as it is only my mam that feeds her the jars, everyone else has stopped but yet again all I get is "Dont think im gonna make a meal just for her, I dont have time'.

Has anyone or does anyone else have this kind of problem and if so how have you resolved it?

What are some unique baby names for a boy or a girl? Im stuck, and i want something that is very different from anyone else. I dont want a stephanie or jennifer, or a michael or jay. I like being different. As long as it goes with the last name Garcia.

It's not really a "bite", it's more lke a nip. He likes to nip my fore-arms the best. Doesn't matter if we're cuddling, or playing, he'll put his mouth on my arm and nips just the little bit of top skin, not like a whole mouth full. He only does it to me, not his daddy or big brother. I usually tell him 'don't bite' and say 'how 'bout a raspberry?' and he'll blow, you know - makes a raspberry. That usually works but otherwise, if he bites, I flick his cheek (like they tell ya to do if a baby bites while nursing) which works immediately, but doesn't prevent him from doing it again later. I'm afraid he'll be a biter in school if I don't do something but on the other hand, it might just be 'a mommy thing'. What do you think? And yes, for any of you wise-crackers, he eats well - gets lots of protein; I'm not a supplement!

I would like parents opinions. I do not want children never wanted children and people make me feel bad for it. I like my life as it is I mean it is difficult enough taking care of my dog, so let alone a child.

My husband and I discussed this way before marriage and were and have been in agreement about it. I work at a OB/GYN office and after seeing the things that I see I can definitely say I dont want children.

I feel comfortable with my choice but what should I say to people that seem to make my choice there business and put me down for it?

this is embarrising but I dont know what to do. We have just moved, my son and I, and we don't really know anyone here. Its been a bit tramatic for both of us, his dad died 2 yrs ago.

Lately he has been gettin an erection and has started playing with it. I have tried the 'not appropriate' approach but it doesnt work. sometimes he doesnt notice hes doing it and sometimes he has his pants down. I dont want to make a big deal of it cos of everything he has been through.

I'm worried about him making new friends if he keeps doing this and can't take him to the swimming pool. He getting to old to change in the girls room, and i dont want him having an erection. I'm worried about letting him go the mens, especially when he is doing that.

I grew up as an only child and didnt go babysitting so i've never this problem before. I don't want to talk to anyone we've just met because they might think there is something wrong with him.

Please help, I'm at my wits end.

Hi I am considering IVF treatment and well I don't know a lot about it and I was wondering if there were any people out there who have had it or know a bit about it. All I know is how much it costs and that it is not garanteed to work. I really need some thought on this. Please help.

when me and my husband have sex, I don't think he ever comes in me. Most of the time it seems, after i get off, we stop. Can you still get pregnant if a guy doesn't come in you?

We've tried most things - disguising it with pudding etc, but never get her to eat more than 1 or 2 spoonfuls. Mealtime is usually a battle & ends in her crying & throwing a tantrum. Sweet food (i.e. puddings) are NEVER a problem!

at nearly 41 weeks pregnant my local hospital have arranged for me to be induced. my consultant has already performed a stretch and sweep which has had no affect and the next plan of action is to start induction using prostaglandin gel. the only problem is my last pregnancy resulted in an emergency casearean section because of unsuspected tranverse lie. from the beginning of this pregnancy i have been told that induction would not be performed because the gels used increase the uterine rupture. my consultant (or should i say his side kick because ive never actually seen him) has said they would try one dose of gel and if that doesent work then another section would have to be performed. im absolutely terrified at the thought of what could go wrong and feel like no one has actually asked me my feelings on all that they,ve sugessted. has anyone experienced the same as me and if so what was the outcome. i desperately need some reassurance i feel like a number and not a patiant bloody nhs
