A study in 2003 found the instance of miscarriage in women who used NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs - like Ibuprofen) during the time of conception dramatically increased their chances of miscarriage by week 20 of their pregnancy. Tylenol was also studied, and no increase in miscarriage was found.
In addition, the chronic use of NSAID's have been found to cause luteinised unruptured follicle (LUF) syndrome, an anovulatory condition characterized by clinical signs of ovulation but in the absence of follicular rupture and ovum release. (i.e. it will seem like your ovulating, when you really are not)
This is reversible when the patient stops the NSAID's.
All of this lead me to think that if you are TTC, you may want to switch to Tylenol - as NSAID use could lead to multiple problems with conception.
Good luck!

If your OBGYN thinks it's ok, then it is. Do they know you're TTC? If not tell them immediately. Ibuprofen is not harmful to a fetus for the first two trimesters. The only reason not to take it during your third is because it is a blood thinner, and may cause excessive bleeding during childbirth. However, if you are TTC you should steer clear of all meds in my personal opinion. Try looking up natural remedies such as massage therapy. I know that if you take your thumb and forefinger and massage between your thumb and forefinger on the opposite hand, it is supposed to alleviate all kinds of pain.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has a system to rate drugs in terms of their safety during pregnancy. This system rates both over-the-counter (OTC) drugs you can buy in a drug or discount store, and drugs your health care provider prescribes. But most medicines have not been studied in pregnant women to see if they cause damage to the growing fetus. Always talk with your health care provider if you have questions or concerns. Ibuprofen is a category B. See below.
The FDA system ranks drugs as:
Category A - drugs that have been tested for safety during pregnancy and have been found to be safe. This includes drugs such as folic acid, vitamin B6, and thyroid medicine in moderation, or in prescribed doses.
Category B - drugs that have been used a lot during pregnancy and do not appear to cause major birth defects or other problems. This includes drugs such as some antibiotics, acetaminophen (Tylenol), aspartame (artificial sweetener), famotidine (Pepcid), prednisone (cortisone), insulin (for diabetes), and ibuprofin (Advil, Motrin) before the third trimester. Pregnant women should not take ibuprofen during the last three months of pregnancy.
Hope this helps!

I would say no to taking the no Ibuprofen prescription medications effect brain chemistry (EFA might healp with headaches) the best advice that i can give is for you to nutritionally support the health of your very own body and
If you want to conceive then you need to take Minerals (you would be able to conceive in one to two months) get this audio tape about minerals called "dead doctors don't lie" call 1800-982-3189 to order, it also talks about the mineral that you need in order to conceive. I my self am very active in health care and i do not recommend Chlomiphene as most of these types of prescription medications can possibly cause a baby to be born with birth defects. In my opinion I would not suggest or recommend conventional treatments, there are alternative approaches that can be taken. I am going to copy a massage that i sent to someone the massage is about cancer but you might benefit from some of the information in this massage (BELOW) and also this massage has the contact information for the health products / minerals >>>>>>>>>>>>RE:Cancer can accrue in the body when nutritionally (malnutrition is the lack of proper Nutrition / Vitamins / Minerals ; inadequate or unbalanced nutrition) the body is not in a condition to defend it's self against free radicals and other cancer causing agents. A nutritionally deficient body that has an acidic PH could support the growth and development of cancers. The body's PH balance is a very important factor to be considered, you want to have more of an alkaline PH, to have a body that is to acidic can be very dangerous. Here is some information for you about health.I suggest a change in diet, drink a lot of clean bottled water (my guess is that this person drinks coffee or soda, these things need to be taken out of the diet for sure and smoking as well) include MINERALS (the sports one is flavored or else i think that there are others that are flavored) AND EFA dietary supplements from a company called American Longevity, phone#1-800-982-3189 2400 Boswell Road, chula vista, California 91914 be careful about the amount of the mineral supplement do not exceed more then one tablespoon a day,Vitamins, the vitamin product that i use is called E 7 (essential seven.) the telephone number is 1(888) 737-7307 i would take only one half of one scoop a day . If you do some study about what exactly it is that all of these different vitamins and minerals PURPOSE INSIDE OUR BODY'S is you will probably figure out that they can help to elevate ALMOST all symptoms of ill health, there is a audio tape about minerals called "dead doctors don't lie" call 1800-982-3189 to order.
http://www.mannatech.com get a DVD from manna-tech called "OUTSIDE THE BOX" BY JEFF ALLEN this DVD will explain to you a lot of information about health and give some very good advice about cancer.
my hope is that you are a saved person, the bible says "we are loved by god with an everlasting love"(Jeremiah 5:8), you can go to http://www.bellevue.org and you can watch sermons live if you want

Most Tylenol products are approved for taking during pregnancy...but why don't you just suffer - are they really that bad? How about taking asprin? Low dose (81mg) asprin is given therapeuticly to couples that are trying to concieve...just don't take asprin after you get pregnant.

You might want to talk to your dr about switching to something else. Ibuprofen can keep the egg from implanting.
