During my last pregnancy, I was exposed to chicken pox. I called my OB and told them that while I'd had chicken pox as a child, I was worried about exposure during the pregnancy and the possible effects the illness could have on the new baby. I was told that I was probably immune since I had it as a child and the baby would have my anti-bodies and would be safe. The baby would have been at risk if I hadn't had the chicken pox.

You and your baby should be fine. To be on the safe side, give your doctor a call and let them know what's going on. They may suggest something to make sure you're safe, but they'll probably just tell you that you and the little one are going to be fine.

Good luck.

You should be fine, because having it as a child you should be immune and so your baby will be. But don't muck around if you're worried see your doctor. A worried mum is probably worse than one with chicken pox.

Always check with your MD, but if you had them as a child you should not get them again- the only thing you can get is when you are older from chicken pox is Shingles.

Dont worry! You are probally immune, but even if you do get them again your baby will be fine. I got the chickenpox when I was 7 months pregnant with my son and nothing happened. The doctor said it would only be an issue if I was full term because the baby might be born with chickenpox and therefore be unwell. But seeing as you are only 22 weeks, it is fine. Talk to your doctor but truly everything will be fine. Enjoy your pregnancy. x
