I am 7 weeks pregnant and my hormones are out of control. I cry for no reason and for every reason. I just can't stand it. I cry at work, I cry at home. My husband thinks I am insane. Any suggestions of how to get my emotions in check. Relaxation techniques or something.

Nope...sorry! I have tried everything myself..and nothing works! But I promise it won't be that way forever! :)
I am 30 weeks and was the same way...and sometimes still am! Stupid commercials on TV made me cry! I would cry when I was happy, sad, angry, frustrated, tired, and sometimes for no reason at all! My husband felt so bad for me....he would ask what was wrong...and all I could say was I don't know! Assure him that it is just hormones..and the best thing he can do to help is just hold you and let you cry! It will pass I promise! Usually around 4 months or so....around the same time the morning sickness goes away! Just give your body some time to process all of the changes and balance out your hormones.
Good Luck and congrats on the pregnancy!

There's no solution, you AND you r husband just have to bear with it until the baby comes out. Everyone experiences what you experience. Tell your husband that he needs to be more understanding and basically walk on eggshells for the remainder of the pregnancy, you are after all carrying his baby. And actually, because of the hormones you are temporarily insane, so you just have to get through it and you will feel better when this is all over. I would recommend making sure to relax in some way, whether it is meditating, exercising, hanging out with a few girlfriends over dinner once a week.

Well, you can't really control the hormones!!! Just roll with it!! It'll be better in, oh, 11, 12 months. I have the same problem crying or anger. I find that just taking a few minutes to myself to sit down and just breathe and think about how lucky i am to have the things i have. I look for the positive things going on right now. And sometimes, i just cry it out and laugh later!! Just remember that your body is just trying to adjust to everything, and you have every right to cry, laugh, scream, and be a little crazy.
Just take time for yourself!!

It kinda just happens that way, I joke about how glad I am that they dont have those sappy long distance phone commercials on anymore, my "craziest" little outburst was just a day or two before I found out I was pregnant, my boyfriend and i went out to dinner and had a HORRIBLE waitress. And I was so upset I cried. I look back on it now and laugh. My only suggestion is to try to get some extra sleep, and take a little time for yourself. All my symptoms seem to be getting better as I am moving closer to the second trimester. Good Luck and Congratulations.

Try some of the herbal teas. Like chamomile. Read a good mystery or a book you like that isn't a sad one. Unfortunately you will feel this way off and on threw out you pregnancy and during the first couple of months the baby is home. Just take deep breaths and think about the wonderfully gift you have been given. This to shall pass :-)

the only way to stop this is to not be pregnant anymore! sorry, but there's really nothing you can do about it. you will be up and down throughout your entire pregnancy. i was worse in my first and last trimester. the second trimester was alot better for me, which the books say normally is. just take some time for yourself and get away from everyone when you start feeling your emotions get out of control. that's what i did. it should get better for you in the second trimester. so you do have something to look forward to. luckily, i'm almost done with my pregnancy so i don't have to put up with those stupid hormones much longer!

It's a hard thing but you just have to try and relax. Breathe in deeply and exhale slowly while at work. Your hormones will level out but it takes time. Crying for no reason is normal for us, even if it seems wierd to other people. Give it time and try to reduce your stress level, that will help a lot!

Try focusing on getting things ready for the baby. Don't feel bad about your emotions. It is a natural change going on in your body. It will pass. Until then, have a good cry .Then treat yourself to something to make you feel better. Like a pedicure, massage, facial, or a new maternity outfit.

yeah I remember that, even commercials made me cry. I was annoyed alot but thats part of it. Its hard to control it, its a bit like PMS.
It will stop. You might be a little like that when the baby is born too but its harmonal.
Try to do stuff that you like to do and try to enjoy the pregnancy besides this crappy part.
You can exersise a bit, like yoga or something, that will help you relax, nice warm baths..things like that. Pamper yourself.
Dont feel bad, its not your fault- Your husband needs to understand this too.

I had the some problem with my pregancies
-try doing something you enjoy for yourself
(i used to sit in a warm bath for a while just to clear my mind)
-sometimes it helps just to cry on your husbands shoulder for a few minuets(hopfully he will be comforting and understanding) Good Luck! If nothing seems to work talk to your doc he might change your pre-natal pills or have more suggestions.
