I'll start by saying that I have already called my doctor and will be seen in 2 hours... so I don't need any "call your doctor answers"... I am simply asking out of curiosity that anyone has experienced this.
I will be 34 weeks pregnant on Friday... My legs and feet were very swollen yesterday.. last night while walking to take my son trick or treating my feet and legs became numb to the point I almost fell because I could NOT control my legs to walk. The swelling has since gone down but now I have a very intense pain in my lower abdemon, groin, and vagina. It does NOT feel like contractions, but the pain started in the middle of the night and has not gone away... Also the baby is moving at least 3 times the amount that he normally moves... He has been going non-stop for hours.
Anyone else experience any of these issues? What did it turn out to be? I am mostly interested to hear from any one that has experienced pain similar to what I am feeling.
Thanks ladies!

Oddball59: Yes he is big. I was induced with my first son because he was large (born at 9 and half pounds), so my doctor has already forwarned me that I will be induced early if this baby starts to measure the same.. and so far he has.

I had intense pain like that that started first thing in the morning when I was 31 weeks preg. It just felt like I was really, really sore from doing too much, and it hurt worse when I stood up. I thought it was just pain, but it lasted all day. I finally went to the doctor after I got off work, and it turned out to be premature labor. They were able to stop it, and everything was fine.

Yes!! I am 30 weeks...Same story as you..started last night after walking 2 miles! Called Dr. late last night...she said it would probably subside...for me it did. My feet are still a little puffy and my legs are still a bit sore. I had an awful pain from the left side of my belly down to about my knee and across the width of my abdomen...that has subsided for the most part. Baby has been moving like crazy and it felt like everything was gonna fall out!!!
Your doctor will probably tell you the same thing mine did.....Tylenol and REST! You overdid it!
Today, I feel exhausted (more than usual) but I am taking it easy! The crazy thing is that 8 months ago I would run 5 miles a day...now I can't even walk at a slow pace!!
Good Luck and congrats on the pregnancy!

I have experienced some of the same thing; except I try not to over-exsert myself. If I get too active, my legs will go numb and if I let it get too far, I will fall so I try to take it easy and if I start to feel this way, I simply sit down until my heart rate slows back down. My doctor said it could be happening only because of the baby's size and the fact that when you walk around, your uterus shifts forward due to gravity and it may lay on important veins and arteries that circulate blood to your legs and feet. He suggested a belly sling which I was informed you could find at most maternity shops. I'm sorry that we have to experience certain things like this, but hey, it's all a part of pregnancy and most of us chose it. I am at this point 36 and a half weeks along. Good luck and hang in there.

I know I got and is getting now with this pregnancy, Weird pains in my legs! that is because the baby is sitting on nurves! If your babies are big, then most likely you baby is so big it is sitting on nurves. Alot of walking made me cramp up but for you to got pains like that! I think you might be going into labor! as for alot of movement, I would be concerned about that because you baby might be reacting to the pains, meaning stress! I ain't a doctor, so I am trying to think of things I know! Hope everything works out and good luck! Your day is soon here!

I think the weakening in your legs was caused by the baby laying against one of your nerves.
It is a good sign that the baby is active. If the baby is very active and kicking around then that alone would be enough to cause the discomfort you are feeling.
I also wonder if your baby is big? Mine was so it didn't allow a lot of room and the kicks pressed on my bladder etc. a lot!
You've been wise to call the doctor though.

I had tons of pain like that with my 3rd and final baby lol. You probably just did too much and you should take it easier on urself for the next 6 weeks or so til baby comes. Things are stretching down there and that is where a lot of that pain comes from..all normal. Good luck at the dr. and wish you a safe and speedy delivery! I also highly recommend the epidural at labor time haha ;-)

I had that kind of pain a lot toward the end of my last pregnancy. Especially after a lot of walking. My doc told me its just the baby pushing on all your nerves and things. It was not anything to worry about. I do think you are doing the right thing seeing your doc though, just to be sure!

The pain could be from overusing all your lower ab muscles to carry the extra weight associated witha 34 week old baby...and It does sound like he is just anting to come out and meet his new family

Well, all that walking around may have given you some contractions even if they aren't doing anything....also the swelling sounds a lot like pre-eclampsia. I am praying for you and hope all goes well at your appt. Take it easy hon!
