I keep reading that there shouldn't be a smell to the newborn's poop but we think he smells. Is something wrong. I think we are going to call our pediatrician anyway.

My boyfriends x girlfriend is saying that she was pregnant and is now thinks she has had a miscarriage. She is saying that he needs to give her $500.00 for a test that tells if she is having a miscarriage or has already had one. Is there any such test besides the normal urine and blood test to show your hormone level? If she is having a miscarriage can they stop it?

My son is approaching 2 1/2 and has said many words once but will not use them again. He has a few words he uses regularly and they are all pronounced very well. My interpretation of the situation is that I, like my mother, have a tendency to talk to children as if they were adults. I talked late but very like a little adult. I would think that that was the problem except he is older than I was and still not talking and he has a tendency to ignore speech directed at him (yes he can hear just fine) when he's engrossed in some activity. I suspect that he understands alot of what is said to him but it is as if he is trying to not show that he understands. I'm afraid I'm making excuses for him to myself but sometimes he forgets and repeats a word or does something when asked the first time. He has a memory like you wouldn't beleive and will go straight to a button that fascinated him at grandma's 6 months ago. Does this sound like any children you know and how did it come out?

Ive just noticed that someone has asked the above question but its now closed for answers & I'm interested in what people think. My ex smokes in the car when he has my five year old son with him, he has always done it since my little boy was born. I've never been happy the situation. He says that if he has the window open when smoking and travelling it doesn't matter. What are other peopls views on this?

I have a 2 month old little girl who LOVES to have mommy and daddy's constant attention. I would LOVE to be able to play with her all day however I do have 4 other kids in my in-home daycare AND her almost 4 year old brother to care for too. She doesn't really need held but wants someone to entertain her (talk to her, shake rattles...) I have good bouncy seat that she likes but she really likes to lay on the floor...SO I was hoping someone could recommend a good activity gym for her to lay under, she really like things that light up, play music or move...does anyone know the best ones and where I can find them?

I am 3 days late with my period and to say mine comes like clockwork is an underestimation. they come every 27 or 28 days without fail, im not stressed out or anything we did have sex around my ovulation. i have all the early pregnancy symptoms but my 2 tests i did one over a week ago and one on the day my period was due are neg. now my stomach seems to be bloated quite a bit but no signs at all for my period, i usually have spots, chocolate cravings and really bad cramps by this stage and my periods have never been late. what do you all think? also is it poss about the bloated stomach thing?

I have already applied for food stamps , but that process takes up to 30 days. And I have 4 children I have to feed now. I was wondering...How do I attempt to prepare my 18 month old son for a little sister (Who could come at any moment, I am 38 wks).. He's laid his head on my tummy, And I've told him 'Baby is in there' but I don't think he quite grasps it yet, He's also noticed another crib in his room, And has watched us fold and re-fold her clothes and what not, But I was wondering if maybe someone had some cute ideas to maybe help him further understand...Also - was wondering...

I have an 8 year old boy, and an 18 month old boy, I was wondering what a cute 'gift' from the new baby would be for the both of them! :-)

Okay, please don't judge me... I have been through alot... We have been together 3 years, but we broke up... I am 18... He is 18... I have been pregnant, got an abortion, wanted to become pregnant again, so bad I would have done anything... Even some shameless things, but I did change ma mind... Then now look at me, not on purpose I am 2 months pregnant... I am mad, and I don't want another abortion, but I don't want to keep it becaus eI don't want him to think that this is a way to get him back... Should I just turn ma back on him, have ma baby, and leave tha choice of him being in tha babys life to him... But, by me trying to involve him, he is so rude, he tells me he doesn't respect me, hates me, don't care, doesn't love me, and he love all these other girls... What do I do??? She is 3 1/2 months old and I breasfeed from 3pm - 6 am and she takes formula during the day at the sitters. This was working fine until the last few weeks she has decided to hold out and not eat during the day and wait on me. The sitter has to fight to get her to eat an ounce or two during the 8 hours I am at work. She seems to still be gaining weight fine though...

Hello im really confused if im pregnant or not..
Im 19 years old and I was on birth control for 4 years and have just gone off it in september06. I had gotten my period in september and it was normal.. My boyfriend and i are trying to get pregnant hence why i went off the birth control. now i have taken 3 pregnacy tests and all came back negitive but now it is november and i still have not gotten my period, my last period ended on the 24 of september so i have not had a period for 37 days. pregnant or stresses or taking the tests too early please help me..

I was adopted by my mothers second husband. The only birth certificate I have shows my adoptive father listed as my father. I would like to have a copy of the original birth certificate that shows my biological father listed. He was always a part of my life and I would like this for sentimental reasons.

My friend just had a baby last week & she is having a hard time latching on. So when we called the dr's office the nurse said that since she needed something (since she wasn't getting enough breast milk) so she said to start pumping & feeding it to her in the bottle. Now we are concerned there will be nipple confusion. Anyone else experience this & do you think she will go back to the breast? I think her mouth is so small & she isn't taking in as much breast as she should. She is very small (like 6 lbs).

My doctor gave me one week to decide if I want to have an amnio or not. I am 13 weeks pregnant and he wants to do this by next week if I choose to. He told me it's a 5 minute procedure done under local anesthesia and that once the sac is poked it seals back almost immediately. All you will feel is cramping and like DNA, this test is 99.9% accurate for over 200 birth defects. My family and hubby's family have no history of defects but I am over 35 years old with my third and last child. We are both very sketical of this procedure but if this test is 99.9% accuate- I would feel irresponsible. I read on other threads that this hurts like crazy but if you're under local anesthesia- why would there be pain??? Any comment is greatly appreciated!

We have had battles about this but he says "everyone" has one. I have mentioned that if "everyone" jumped off a cliff would you do it too? And yes, he had an answer for that too. He is a good kid but sometimes his mouth is bigger then the Grand Canyon.

I have a doctors appointment tomorrow, BUT, In the meantime.... I can barely walk because there is SO much pressure in my pelvic area, It feels like the babies head is sitting so far down that she might fall out at any given moment, I SERIOUSLY almost cannot get up and walk, And when I do finally make it off of whatever I happen to be sitting on, It hurts SO badly...The best way for me to describe this pain, Is like this-

I feel like a wishbone, And I have 2 people on either side of my pubic bones, Both pulling in different directions.

Any suggestions to help ease the pain (Other than Tylenol, Which isn't helping)....Or do you think labor is coming in the very near future???
