With the medicine dropper some medicines come with (or buy a big plastic syringe) and do it while the child is taking a bath if possible (spills or rejected medicines will clean up easier). If not taking a bath, make sure to do it while the child is on an old towel or outside to avoid mess. Also fill it up with a little more that the recommended dose, because the thick syrups tend to coat the dropper and then the child gets the amount he/she needs!!

The syringes are much more precise and easier than the droppers....your pharmacist will happily give you one if you ask. Don't mix meds with coke or candy (as previously suggested)...these aren't ever good for your baby, and even worse if he or she is sick!!! With liquids (likely the only meds being given to a tiny person), use the syringe and aim it toward the back of the cheek so they don't gag on it....be quick and don't make a big deal of it and it will be done before your little one knows what him 'em. Also, the previous suggestion of doing it while the kiddo's in the bath is a good one too.

Well my daughter is 18 months and I don't have a problem with that at all. I did when she was younger and there is no easy way to do it. I would just hold her and try to open her mouth with my hands and put the dropper to the back of her mouth by the cheek and just shoot the medicine all at once. Now she kinda just opens her mouth. She likes the taste.

at one i don't think there is an easy way but what you can try is slipping in his mouth when drinking a bottle. i used that one myself til my little guy figured out what i was doing. otherwise the not so nice way is to push on his cheeks so that his lips are open and try and get it in that way.....kids are smart when it comes to not letting you administer medicine.some medicines are not suppose to be mixed w/juices or other liquids so ask a pharmacist first......also some pharmacy's have flavors they can add for you

If it's a liquid, get a juice or some Kool-aid that's the same color and put a bit into a small cup and mix in the medicine and they won't even realize it's in there.
If it's a pill, crush it up and mix it in with mashed potatoes or applesauce.

it depends on whether the child likes it or not. If she does like it, a simple syringe will do, if she does not, we always put it in a bottle or sippy cup mixed with about 3 oz of juice or favorite beverage. That way she'll drink it and won't even know it.

You can either use the plastic syringe for babies abd squirt medicine into their mouth, mix with their baby food, play the bumble bee or airplane( that get them laughing) or even the choo choo train to open up.

I used a large syringe with OUT the needle..just squirt it to the back of the mouth..follow with a favorite juice!
If it is in pill form, don't use them unless the disolve on contact, your baby can choke.

Either from the dropper it comes with, usually, or you could try it on a spoon for something different if the child won't take it the other way.

Use the droppers designed to hold a teaspoon that you just sqeeze into their mouths. It's the quickest, and it's down their throat before they know what hit 'em.
