The hormonal changes that cause morning sickness affect everyone differently, just like sugar makes some people giddy and other people sick. My wife was sick and vomiting all the time when she was pregnant, and she is never that way normally. My mother was hardly morning sick at all when she carried me and my brother...so it's a classic case of Your Milelage May Vary...you get what you get. Some people have morning sickness during one pregnancy and none in the next one.
Biochemistry is exceedingly complex, and even minor changes can cause serious issues for some people. On the other hand, I had a great aunt who smoked like a chimney and drank hard liquor for 50 years, yet lived to be 102. Pregnancy is the same; it can be dangerous, even life-threatening for some, and exhilaratingly wonderful for others. Lack of morning sickness is no cause for worry, it's just good luck.

I recently read in a book that only about 50% of women actually experience "Morning Sickness". I didn't have any until I was about 6 weeks. I'm at 8 weeks now and I only have it occasionally. Infact, It sometimes worries me when I feel well because I thought you were "supposed" to be sick. Then I read the book "What to Expect When You're Expecting" and learned only about 50% of women get morning sickness. So...don't worry you should assume everything is okay unless your doctor tells you differently. Good Luck!

Yes. It is ok not to have morning sickness. I have four boys, the last two twins. Son # 2 gave me no morning sickness. That just made me think I was having a girl since son #1 had made me sick. Then sons #3&4 made me sick all the time, morning noon and night. Best wishes with your pregnancy. All women and all pregnancies are different.

I thought the exact same thing, but after hearing other women tell me about how sick they were and how horrible I felt, I WAS MORE THAN THANKFUL!!!! Enjoy not being sick now. I'm 30 weeks as of today and I'm ready for this baby to be out. He's wearing me out on a daily basis. Be thankful for not having any morning sickness.

With my first child I didn't get morning sickness at all or feel pregnant until i actually seen my belly, i did get food cravings for sushi though, with my second one I didn't get morning sickness until around 11-12 weeks. Symptoms seem to be different with each pregnancy...

If you have taken a test and it was positive or your doc said you were pregnant then don't worry about not feeling sick. I was very sick with my first baby and with my second right now, I didn't feel sick at all. Yes, it is normal for some women not to feel sick, trust me you don't want to be.

Consider yourself lucky. I'm 28 weeks and haven't had morning sickness whatsoever. So women experience morning sickness and others don't.
