At 10 wks pregnant would it matter which test was done? Are both equaly sensitve at this stage to detect and show a fetus?

I'm not concerned, so much, about the detail in the pic. just that the Dr. can take measurements and see the fetus.

The ultrasound tech I went to told me it's easier in early pregnancy to see it on an internal ultrasound. The only way she was able to see mine at 6 weeks was with an internal ultrasound. She couldn't even find it with the external one. She was also able to see the heartbeat by using the internal probe. Based on what she told me I'd say the internal probe is more sensitive since it doesnt have to go through layers of skin, fat, and muscle like the external one does.

no, I had to have an internal ultrasound, (at 9 weeks, last week)now this dosent mean that they couldnt from the outside, it just gets a better idea and a better image internally.

My next one will be at 5 months and this one will be external!

The internal ultra sound works better for early pregnancy, so if you are 10 weeks probably the internal.

With an internal ultrasound, You'll get a better 'picture' of the baby, 'cause it can go in and get closer...I got an internal at 8wks and could see her PERFECTLY...
