I was adopted by my mothers second husband. The only birth certificate I have shows my adoptive father listed as my father. I would like to have a copy of the original birth certificate that shows my biological father listed. He was always a part of my life and I would like this for sentimental reasons.

I beleive it is a sealed record. Is it possible to have it unsealed now that i am an adult?

Like the first poster said go to the county you were born in to get it, or you can also go to the State office they carry every birth certificate for every birth in the state and if it is anything like WI's it will show every change that has been made on it.

Example
I was born with a different last name and when my mother married my biological father he had to adopt me in order for my last name to be changed. It has the exact date the name change was finalized.
