One of my biggest peeves is bringing a child into the world when he (or she) is not going to be taken care of well and be a strain on the family or mother. In other words 'ACCIDENTAL PREGNANCY!'

There's not enough education in our country, which is sad and makes no sense, since we're the most resourceful country on earth. A kid that is ignorant of the facts is going to bring unwanted kids into the world, it's a sad fact.

Are they stupid? I think they're either ignorant, careless, thoughtless and/or lazy. It's a fact that the less education, the more likelihood of unwanted pregnancy. But that doesn't make them stupid, just ignorant, like I said.

It's mostly the responsibility of their parents, but also the government and health organiztions to see that these kids have access to proper information and are educated enough to be able to make intelligent choices for themselves, and to have access to effective birth control!

I dont think they are stupid..maybe ignorant though. I think that parents should be more involved in their kids lives, they should know where they are, who they are hanging out with, etc. They also should take the time to talk to their kids about sex and the risks involved. Also, I dont think it should be so easy to "fix" the "problem" if they do get pregnant. They should have to be responsible for their actions. And ya know, its not just the girls...you dont have to be a certain age to buy condoms...they are available to everyone.

Some teenagers I know are claiming that because of schools not giving enough information and having religious families they dont know about birth control services. It doesnt explain to me why they cant ask a doctor about things like this.....

Also, some people think if you plan to have sex, or are prepared for sex, thats bad, so they dont carry condoms.

It does bother me that girls are having babies so young these days. I read in a magazine last month that America not only has one of the highest ratings for teen preg. but also STDs. The reason is other countries inform their kids better than we do. How sad to think, we accuse them of being dumb, but isn't it our fault to educate our kids to make sure their not one of them?

Blunt Honesty said it best. They aren't stupid- they are ignorant and there is a difference. How can we expect them to do the know their options when the majority of society turns a blind eye to premaritial sex?

Well, I don't know about stupid, but definately irresponsible. I think a girl should have enough respect for herself not to go and give it to just whoever wants it. I don't believe in "accidents" either. If you don't want to be having babies, then don't be screwing around!!!

I don't think they're stupid, Just not very well informed....Mothers should be a bit more involved in their daughtes lives, and teen pregnancies might not be so common in the US.

Parents don't want to take them to get birth control because they think it is condoning sex, I would rather my daughter be on some kind of birth control because I know at some point she will try having sex!!

Stupid, no but there are just so many things to prevent it. I had a kid when I was 16 but my mom wouldn't put me on birth control. so sometimes it's not just the kid to blame

Well, I don't know about stupid, but with all the information out there it's really silly. It just shouldn't happen.
