There are often questions on here about bizarre little habits kids around eight years old do (seeming compulsive about mentally coloring traffic signs, smelling everything, etc.). Please list any odd little habits you know of that a perfectly normal child of six to nine years of age has done as part of a phase. (Day-to-day, stupid-seeming, little habits that the child seems to constantly be doing, things that could look a little bit like OCD to the person who doesn't know children very well).

My wife is pregnant and the doctor has put her on semi-bed rest becuase their is a chance of early labor. She is allowed to work for a few hours and rest the majority of the day.

Shje is getting annoyed with me because I won' let her do anything while she's home. She is getting restless laying around all day and wants to get up and do stuff (clean, cook, etc). I then proceed to start nagging her making sure she gets the required rest she needs.

How do I get a good balance between helping keep our baby safe and helping my wife keep her sanity??

I don't feel pregnant anymore, I did, but that feeling has gone away.
I was bleeding for 17 days, not heavy but for a long time. I had blood work done and my hgc level was over 500 on 10/4, and a sonagram with no sign of a sac. I guess i am still hopeful

im pregnant by my boyfriend we love eachother to death hes everything to me everyone keeps telling me hes gonna leave me after i have the baby. this is his first child mine too and me and the baby's all he talks about he buys stuff for me and the baby all the time hes a really great guy but no one understands i dont know what i should do do i keep standing up for our relationship or do i just let them say what they want? its annoying me really bad someone help.

I am having a hard time with my three year old daughter. this is way worse than the terrible twos that people always talk about. What does everyone else think?

I will also add that the good times are even better then they used to be. So it kind of balances out.

I have been approved for the 12 week leave of FMLA but they do not give any paid disability or anything and I called the Unemployment office and they do not have paid leave for disability of a prenancy. Is there anywhere else to look for some benefits while off? ss office?

My sister is 32 and pregnant with her second child. She never smoked with her first child but now she is 20 weeks and smokes two cigarettes a day. Her doctor said he isn't that concerened about only 2 a day but I am! I know she feels bad and she wants to stop but she says the baby is fine and everything is going to be ok. Do you think she is being naive? I knwo other people who have smoked more and their kids are fine....but it my relative this time.

Help! Yesterday, 9-y.o. daughter didn’t want to wear a certain green shirt because “its too thin and they show.” She took off the shirt, put on an undershirt/camisole and then she put the shirt on top. But she was frustrated that “they still show!”

Honestly, I wasn’t sure if she was referring to her breasts (which evidently have started to protrude in the smallest possible way) or something else. So I asked as gently as I could, “please forgive me if I haven’t noticed something that’s obvious, but what are you talking about? What shows?”

She didn’t say anything but she seemed embarrassed and so I offered “is it your breasts?” and she said yes. I asked what would make her more comfortable. She suggested a thicker shirt. I said ‘good idea’ and off she went. Whew.

Now, I feel like I need to talk with her, and I would appreciate suggestions on the kinds of things that I should tell her about her body, as well as how I should go about getting undergarments for her. TIA.

I have 3 girls all 20 months apart. They were all between 7 lbs 6 oz and 7 lbs 11 oz at birth and between 20 and 21 inches long. And so far have grown at about the same rate and worn the same clothing size at the same ages. So there seems to be a chance they will be the same size as adults. I've heard girls stop growing between 14 and 17. I'm just wondering if as pre-teens or teenagers they will end up being able to share each others clothes or even my clothes? Anyone had any experience with this? I just know that my sister's clothes rarely ever fit me growing up, she's 4 years older and has always had a lot bigger chest then me and wore a couple size larger pants.
