Is a doctor the one that checked you? If so, if they didn't seem too concerned about getting you to a hospital, then maybe it isn't a big deal. Personally if it was me I would be at the hospital waiting. But I always transition really fast. Once I hit a 4, I would deliver anywhere from 18 minutes to 6 hours. Some people stay at your position for weeks and weeks. Feel lucky you've gotten that far without pain!

Break your water if you are between 36 - 40 weeks. Have the hospital's attending ob/gyn doc break your water. By the way, if you are not past 36 weeks, put your feet up and lay around. Make everyone you know wait on you hand and foot. Fan me, feed me grapes kinda' thing! LOL! Sex with major orgasm, spicy food and nice brisk walks will bring it along. You're so lucky you're not in pain. Also, keep an eye on your panties for your mucous plug. It's kinda' pink. If you find that, it will happen in no time. Trust your ob/gyn sweetie.
Congratulations Sweetie.

It varies from baby to baby. At 36 weeks, the doctor said there was no way I was making it to the next week, let alone term. I'd lost my mucus plug, was 3+cm dilated, 100% effaced, and baby was at +1 station. She wanted to induce to make sure I made it to the hospital on time (I think she was a little melodramatic). At 40 weeks I was 4cm dilated.
Baby made her debut at 41 weeks, 1 day, no induction.

Maybe you should try sex. I know that's the last thing you want to do right now or you can just find a way of getting your husbands sperm inside of you and that will definitely start contractions. Worked for me. I went into labor that night but stayed asleep and my water broke in the morning.

I have given birth twice, with no pain, at all! Everyone is different, but even the OB nurses don't believe me when I tell them that I am in labour :) Hopefully you are one of the lucky ones.

I think you're lucky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is this your first baby? If so, you have no idea how lucky you are! Just sit back and enjoy it for as long as you can, because once it starts, there's no stopping it.
