I dont know about Las Vegas, but I know WI doesnt have anything. It sucks, they just expect mothers to live on streets and eat rocks while on leave. My husband works, but we are a two income family and we get really strapped when I am off. One peice of advice is to save up some cushion while you can, or if your due after taxes, save your taxes for the down time. Good Luck, I know it sucks!

Probably not. I don't know of any states that offer that type of assistance. I know it's harsh, but if you absolutely need the money you may need to return to work soon than 12 weeks. I have an in-home daycare with 6 kids including my own two, and I only took one week off after my c-section last month. We couldn't afford much more and the parents couldn't go that long without childcare.

I work in one of the casinos in LV and they don't offer paid time off so I purchased short & long term disability through my health insurance. it pays up to 60%. not much but anythings better than nothing. Find out if your insurance offers it and if there are any restrictions. The last company I use to work for paid for the short term but not long term.
