I am pregnant and I know that people have lived in older homes for yrs. and yrs. even before any know issues w/ lead. The paint in my home does not flake. There may be a large chip here and there from paint loossining w/ opening & closing of windows but that is it. My landlord gave a brochor 2 me upon moving in stating "older hms. may have lead ect." everything in the home has been painted and re painted literally probably 100s of X's even recently. Should I be concerned for my unborn childs health? I know women who had children in this era R healthy ect. I'm just worried. Should I move? I really like the home. My concerns are w/ lead.

I am planning on having a tubal ligation (getting my tubes tied) after my second child is born in November. I was totally gung-ho on the idea but I feel like people keep telling me to have my husband get a vasectomy. What are your personal experiences with this? Please, serious answers only, this is a huge part of my future. (I am happy with having only two kids, but there is always that "what-if" factor... plus, both pregnancies have been pretty tough physically for me. I am Christian, but I have found no reason to not get this procedure done according to the Bible.) I welcome any horror stories as well as any good stories!!!

I have a little cousin that is 3 years old, and she likes the bubbles in the bathtub. Well, naturally, because she is only 3 years old, when I give her a bath I never leave her side. Therefore, my question is, is there a certain age recommended for using bathtub bubbles. I mean it would seem like that should be on the bottle, but it only warns to do not ingest, (which does not help in my confidence in letting her use it either). However, as I said, I will be there right by her – so is 3 years too young or it is ok?

If it is NOT ok, what age do you think is appropriate?

My son is 4 and the school called today and had me pick him up cause he had a little bit of some red blotchy areas on his lower back and stomach. No bumps just blotches. He threw up a couple times this weekend and has a soar throat plus a fever. Could he have chicken pox even though he has had his chicken pox shot.

Ok so I just left a post....my fiance and I were trying to concieve. So we stopped using protection and figured when it happens it happens. I had my period Aug. 23th and now im 3 days late. We had sex a day after my period ended and had sex three times 5 days ago. I took a test (first response) and it says negative but I've heard that these aren't always accurate. I am dizzy all the time and of course the late period. I am now feeling crampy....is that possibly my period or a pregnancy symptom?

P.S.) I did get pregnant when I was younger and had dizzy spells. I did not keep the baby but please don't criticize me.

What do you think of the name? Is it too used? Would it sound okay with a latino last name? I am considering this name.
Thanks!

For those ladies who chart or know about charting basal body temps--could you take a quick peek at my chart and tell me what you think. I got a pos. OPK on CD 18 but fertilityfriend is putting my dotted coverline on CD 17--has this ever happened to anyone before? I usually get a pos opk for 2 days---the day before O and day of O--never the day AFTER O! My question is basically--by looking at my chart do you think I o'd on CD 17 or 18?

Lately I have been experiencing a dull lower back pain on and off durring the day and night too, its kinda hard to explain, its not horrible pain but it pulses, usually last about 15 minutes or so every hour or two ? the baby is also much more active twards the end of the day and at night when im trying to sleep, and also some-times earlyer in the day when the baby is normally less active, Its getting much more difficult to sleep at night but i pretty sure that its normal... what do you guys think, i am about 33-35 wks pregnant and i have an ultrasound tomarrow to find out the baby's sex, and i dont want to call the doctor if i dont have to.

It's my 2nd baby. My first was a breeze. He's 8 months old and today I'm sleep deprived and on edge. I can't leave the room w/out him crying. It just took over a hour to get him to nap. I wont give him any numbing gels for his mouth. It's just not my thing. I do give him Tylonal though. I just need other moms advice on how to deal a little bit better.
