Please include titles and authors so that I can find them. If you have a basic jist on the story, that would be great too.

A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray ( I think that is the author....) It is kind of about "witch craft"....so if that is a prob for you...I wouldnt consider it.

October Sky by Homer Hickam. If you've seen the movie....you should know what the book is about...they are pretty much the same.

Eragon By Christopher Pallini (I think...) It is another one of those LOTR-ish series. About dragons and the like.

LOTR- By Tolkien. You may disagree and say that this isnt an "age appropriate" book.....but I loved it when I was in 8th grade.

I totally agree on the post about the author Judy Blume. I remember reading her when i was young as well. Also, the Outsiders was & still is a favorite of mine.

I'm not exactly sure what age is appropriate for my FAV, but whenever you feel is right, I also suggest To Kill A Mockingbird.

Are You There God, It's Me Margaret by Judy Blume is a favorite coming of age story that most women read growing up. It's about a girl, trying to deal with the trials and tribulations of being a teenager and growing up - it includes some hilarious passages about growing breasts and having to buy a training bra. All of the Judy Blume books should be appropriate.

Judy Blume books.
And right now im reading the Da Vinci Code and im 13.
But that might be too much for her. Cause so far its a really good book!

Hope this helps!

Left Behind- the series. Written for and about teenagers. There are about 20 books in the series (they are sequential and chronological. . . you want to start with book 1). Authors Jerry B. Jenkins and Tim LaHay. They are GREAT!!
