My son is 4 and the school called today and had me pick him up cause he had a little bit of some red blotchy areas on his lower back and stomach. No bumps just blotches. He threw up a couple times this weekend and has a soar throat plus a fever. Could he have chicken pox even though he has had his chicken pox shot.

Sounds like Scarlet Fever ... Take him to the Dr's And MAKE THEM .. don't ask ... TELL THEM to do a rapid Strep Test,

My son had it 2 months ago the only syptoms were A slight rash, Fever thats it..

He's had scarlet fever twice now... it is strep throat that is progressed .. and if left untreated it can turn to rhumatic Fever which can harm their Heart!!

The first indication of chicken pox is usually a clear blister. It doesn't get red and blotchy until after the blisters usually pop. He probably just has an allergic reaction of some sort or is running a fever. A fever alone can make your little one blotchy. If he has had the chicken pox vaccination, his only risk is to get shingles...which aren't blotches.

If the blotches get worse, I would give him some children's Benedryl and let him sleep it off until he feels better. He probably just has a virus.

if you think it is chicken pox, put him in a really warm bath, the hottest he can stand. this will help them come on out. chicken pox start inside and come out to the surface of the skin and the sooner he breaks out the quicker he will get over them. just because he's had the shot doesn't mean he can't still get a mild case of them.

Absolutely, my son had the shot and then got them. It was much more mild than it was when I got it as a child. Take him to the doctor to be sure. Make sure it isn't an allergic reaction to something.

Yes, but they should have told you that it would be mild if he did.
I wouldn't worry so much. My son had the shot & I have often wondered if he shouldn't had the shot! What happens if he doesn't get them & then does as an adult? Eek!

They start as a rash on the belly which then turn to spots, but if u are unsure take him straight to the docs just warn them when u go in cos it is very contagious.
