I have a little cousin that is 3 years old, and she likes the bubbles in the bathtub. Well, naturally, because she is only 3 years old, when I give her a bath I never leave her side. Therefore, my question is, is there a certain age recommended for using bathtub bubbles. I mean it would seem like that should be on the bottle, but it only warns to do not ingest, (which does not help in my confidence in letting her use it either). However, as I said, I will be there right by her – so is 3 years too young or it is ok?

If it is NOT ok, what age do you think is appropriate?

occasional bubble baths are ok, but you may want to limit them to special occasions, my friends little girl gets yeast infections every time...very sad, every girl should experience the occasional bubble bath.

3 year olds are very impressionable, so maybe one of her siblings told her something to scare her into taking a bath. It's apparent that something has scared her. Or maybe she fell at one point in the tub. Sometimes too if there is something floating in the water like a fuzz, they go nuts and not want to take a bath for a while but then get over it. Suggest to try introducing a fun new toy. They don't even have to buy it. There are plenty "fun" toys that can be found in the kitchen for bath play, measuring cups, measuring spoons, whisks. She can pretend she's making soup. Distraction is the key to this and when she calms down, have them ask her why she doesn't like to take a bath and ask questions like, "Did something scare you? Did your brothers/sisters say something to you to scare you? you know, probe a little. Sometimes it's just a toddler thing too. For no reason at all our almost 3 year old will protest the bath at times. Offering her something new to play with from the kitchen could help. OH, and check to see if maybe she has a rash on her bum, even if she's potty trained, she could be irritated down there by not being properly cleaned after going to the bathroom and bath water can really hurt that area when they sit down, especially girls.

i think they are fine as long as you dont leave her un attended. The stuff is a soap and itll upset her tummy if she drank it. But all little kids like to stick bubbles in there mouth. I'm sure your cousin will be fine to take a bubble bath.

Purchase the bubble bath made specifically for small children. You should also limit the number of bubble baths for little girls (once a week is good). The tissue around her private area is more sensitive and she could become more prone to infections and irritations.

Get the kid ones. I let me kids use them. They are not going to eat enough of the bubbles out of the water to hurt them. They do not want you to drink it right from the bottle. Let her have a bubble bath. It is not going to hurt her.

My one year old son has bubbles in the bathtub. He loves playing with them.
My 8 month old daughter has bubbles in the bath with her also. They can't hurt a baby and then can't hurt a 3 year old either.

I don't have kids so I don't know first hand but -

I think that since bathbubbles is geared towards kids, and is basically just soap - I wouldn't see it as a problem. Maybe check at the store for special bathbubbles for the younger children.

If its bad for babies, i still think that 3 is old enough, especially since you never leave her side.

They are probably okay but she could be allergic to them and it could give her a serious rash. Make sure to get a mild bubble bath so there's less chance of her being allergic.

It's fine. What they mean by "do not injest" is not to drink the liquid from the bottle. It smells so yummy that some kids might try this. She can eat the bubbles and be fine. Just tell her eww yucky and she probably won't.
