When you go to check on them and they are sleeping, do you stand there and watch them with a silly grin on your face? I just checked on my 2 year-old son and he was snoring and I couldn't help just stand there and watch him. He as a preemie and almost died at birth and watching him sleep makes me feel so blessed! I also lost a baby girl last month at 21 weeks, so it makes me feel even more blessed to have him.

One that you trained on, when you were little. Do you still have it? Mine was 'Put me in the zoo'. I've hung on to it.

I've been reading a lot of threads lately on the pros and cons of smacking. I personally don't believe in it, but I'm geniunely interested to hear from parents that do smack, why they choose this form of discipline over other methods?

Is it something inbuilt from being smacked as a child yourself? Do you find it works the best? I'm not wanting to stir the pot, but rather understand why parents smack rather than giving time out, losing pocket money etc.

My 3 month old is constipated. I had her on Nestle Goodstart Supreme ARA/DRA, but the doc thinks she was having a reaction to the milk, so now she's on the soy. Now, she's constipated and he has me pumping her full of karo syrup. I don't want to do this to her forever. Has anyone else had this problem, or can suggest a better formula with less than 1.8 of iron in it??? I am almost positive it is the iron doing it to her. Any help or suggestions would be great - the doctor seems to just want me to fill her full of syrup before he has me try anything else. Thanks!

I'm 32 weeks pregnant with my second baby. I've had somewhat normal pregnant bladder problems up till now, but the past couple of days, it seems a lot worse. What's different? Has the baby moved around, can this maybe get better or will it only get worse?

What does this mean to you? I wrote this poem on a plain (no snakes, Yea!!!) this morning going to see one of my sisters. Thing is, I have no idea what it means.

"When the rain is coming down all around me,
I won't cry myself to sleep.
I will live life for the moment,
And never again be weak.
Run free through the medow,
And now it won't be long.
The rain is coming down again,
But I continue with my song.
I feel the thunder rumble,
deep inside my heart.
And I can't help but to wonder,
If maybe I'm a part.
Do these cloudes know what I'm feeling?
They seen to cry the tears that I can't.
And as much as I tried,
I can never forget.
What you've done to me,
And how you've wronged my broken heart.
And you're no longer here now,
So I thank God we're apart.
The rain keeps coming down now,
And rolling down my head.
I can see you in the fog,
And I feel a since of dread.
It's not really you though,
'Cause you're gone so far away
Because of what you did to me,

I had a successful pregnancy 9 yrs ago and one miscarriage last year at 10wks. My husband and I have been trying for about 6 months to get pregnant. Because I want it soooo much, I worry that I will look into things too much, so I am going to be patient and wait till my expected period in 6-7 days. But I can't help but wonder what these twitchy feelings in abdomen are. I have had them all day. Rminds me of when I was about 4 or 5 mos pregnant with my daughter, her first movements. Obviously I don't think its a baby moving around, but I've heard of people getting twitches or muscle spasms in lower abdomenal area and in fact being pregnant. Has anyone else experienced this??

Out of curiousity I was wondering how many of you was your due date off. At first they told me I was due April 7th. Then I went in at 9wks and they found a heartbeat. They said that normaling they don't hear it that early with a doppler. So maybe I am a few weeks fathur. (which is what I thought in the beginning). Has this happened to anyone and if so how and what.

Last night I lost my mucus plug and they sent me home because contractions were not happening as much. Today I noticed there is still some yellow mucus stuff coming out and very very very light spotting when I use the bathroom. What could this be? Can you loose your mucus plug and loose more of it afterwards,or does this mean labor is VERY VERY close?? I am 37 weeks, have had cramping and back ache most of the day but nothing MAJOR. But it does hurt. Is it also ok to feel tired and have a head ache when labor is CLOSE. And by close I mean right around the corner, not weeks away.

do you leave your children inside of a car with a competent responsible adult or teen because you worry that kids might cause trouble for you while shopping or afraid something bad will happen to them?

I work with a bunch of women. Some of them are in their late 30's and 40's pregnant with their FIRST child.

That is fine, personally I don't care, but they get mad if someone calls them an "older mom."

I don't get why they would be mad, they ARE older moms!

If you are 40 and pregnant with your first child, then you are not old age wise, but you are old as far as the age range to have your first child.

They are not young moms, they are not average aged moms, they are mothers who were older than most moms when they got pregnant.

If you say an older mom would be someone in their 50's or 60's then that doesn't make sense, because it is rare a woman could be fertile enough to carry a child at that age.

Therefore, a mother who is in her late 30's and 40's is an "older" mom.

It justs like a pregnant 18 year old being called a "young" mother.

What do you think?

(I had to get it off my chest, lol)
