Last night I lost my mucus plug and they sent me home because contractions were not happening as much. Today I noticed there is still some yellow mucus stuff coming out and very very very light spotting when I use the bathroom. What could this be? Can you loose your mucus plug and loose more of it afterwards,or does this mean labor is VERY VERY close?? I am 37 weeks, have had cramping and back ache most of the day but nothing MAJOR. But it does hurt. Is it also ok to feel tired and have a head ache when labor is CLOSE. And by close I mean right around the corner, not weeks away.

wow, the spotting is what would alert me to think birth is comming soon. With my son I didn't know I was in labor until I saw some spotting- I had been peeing every 10 min or less for like 9 hours-anyways I had Placenta Previa during the whole pregnancy & so I was told to get to the hospitol ASAP if I saw any blood or I could hemerage to death-Obviously I didn't My son had turned & my placenta "moved out of the way" & he was born just 4 1/2 hours later-after seeing the spotting that is. I hadn't felt ANY contractions until about an hour or more after getting checked in to my hosp. room. Did your doctor say if/how much you were dialated when you went in after losing your plug? My friend carried her son 4 days after she lost her mucus plug. Good luck & congradulations!

You can lose your mucus plug & not deliver till your 40 weeks. I would be concerned though that I was leaking fluid. Sounds like your in just about to have the baby. All those pains don't normally start until labor starts.

You can loose your mucus plug in pieces. I have been losing mine for 2 weeks or so now.. It's normal to be tired and not feel well even if it is like 3 weeks until delievery. I have felt like this for about a month and my baby is due tommorow and still won't make her appearance.. It sounds to me like you are a while away sweetie.. hang in there this part sucks.. trust me..

Yes it is normal to feel that way hun, your body is working very hard right now to meet the demands of a much bigger and ready to come out baby. As for the plug...Yes you can lose a little here and a little there...it doesn't have to come out all at once even though it may have appeared to. I wish you the best of luck with your little miracle!!

My boss was having contractions and dilated to 2 for 3-4 weeks before her son was born 2 days before his due date.

that same thing happened to my friend and she ended up delivering her own baby in her bathroom at home. I would go back to the doctor.
