my question is am I a worried mom? Or a good mom. My daughters class has 20 kids in it and it is a public school. But the thing is when I drop her off at school, all the other parents just leave there kids there, all alone, no adults!! They are alone for 10-15 minutes befor the bell rings. I am the only parent that sits with the kids. ( I live in Utah, and here we just had a 5 year old girl abducted and killed.) so this freeks me out. am I crazy or right?

Due to a previous miscarriage, I have been a nervous wreck with this pregnancy. I somehow manage to find new things to worry about! I am 18 weeks along, and am worried about having an incompetent cervix.. I have had 2 abortions, and 1 D&C, so I feel like I might be at risk.. My doctor reluctantly measured my cervix (since he thinks I'm worrying over nothing), and it measured 3.6 cm long.. Is that normal? Should I demand routine testing? Is my worrying justified?

Here's the situation. My husband and I are very close to his grandmother. She lives alone, and we visit her often. The problem is she is kind of paranoid when it comes to our daughter. It's annoying to have answer the same old questions over and over.."When will her teeth come in?" (My baby is 7 months. She has been asking us since she was 4 months old) Is she sick? (After my daughter sneezes once at her house. His grandmother smokes in her garage which may be the problem, but I don't want to be rude and bring this up.) And, countless other things. Sometimes it seems like she is putting down are parenting skills.

How do I tell her to butt out in a nice way. I'm afraid that one day I'm going to blow up on her, and I don't want that to happen.

I have this coworker/friend/bootycall that I have been hanging out with. Only problem is I'm pregnant. He is the only one I have been with for a long time so I know it is his but I have a feeling he is going to not react well. Any suggestions when or how to tell him? Or should I not tell him? I dont know!!!

i'm not sure what section my questioin went under but anyway i was hoping some one could answer this....my friend (12 years old) says she gets these really bad pains in her lower abdominal and i'm worried about her (but then again it may just be that she's going to start her period) and she's been sick too, I would give her some advice since I started already, but I never had pains like that, so I don't know what to tell her

My daughter just turned one. She is a very picky eater, she doesnt even like the normal stuff like mac and cheese, her daily diet is fruit loops, mixed veggies, beans and yogurt. i know that doesnt sound too bad, but she needs to put some weight on, shes in the 5th percentile for her weight. Any one have any ideas for me to try with her?

I had an abortion nearly 3 years ago, and have since been in a solid and stable relationship, i want to have children but am really worried that it wont be possible due to the previous abortion, my partner and i have been trying for a long time now to get pregnant, but it just never seems to happen, does anyone know if this could be a result of my abortion???
(i am aware a doctor will give me an answer but i just wanted an opinion)
*also please note i am an adult, i do not wish to receive any hatefull answers from anti abortion campaigners etc

Do we have enough research to know that time outs work. I mean it seems like a fairly new approach to parenting, I just haven't really met any young adults that say yes I turned out good because of time outs when I was younger all I hear is "my parents would beat my *** and I turned out fine...."

It started this afternoon. Her eyes started watering lots. They're both slightly closed and she's been rubbing them a little bit. There is no puss or crusties around it either. I'm not sure whats going on, should I be alarmed? My daughter is 11 months old and will be getting tubes in her ears on the 19th.

No exageration, but, my son will be 2 the latter part of October. He can count to 12, but misses number 5, and understands the concept of counting(uses his finger to point to what he is counting, or will count on his fingers) I never really pushed this or anything, I would just in general everyonce in a while say , how many _____ are their, and count, usually only to four. He is also starting to sing the ABC song, but only knows half the letters. Is this really good, or average for this age?
