When travelling in Uzbekistan I was told that an old tradition there goes as follows: if you want to make sure you next born child is a boy, you have to snort one ground chilli for three nights in a row. Apparently this increases the temperature in the testes and so increase the amount of male sperm. Has anyone tried this method?

...and around the time you would usually get your period should you experience any more symptoms than usual or is it no different? for example i still understand that some people get cramps when they would have been due throughout their pregnancy.

My husband has 4 kids from marriage #1. I'm 12 yrs younger 1st marriage no kids. He/They come from an impoverished country so I agreed to sponsor his children to come to live here. 3 yrs of paperwork, attorneys and mtgs with INS and they were finally approved arriving in the US on 05/06. Ages 14, 18 and 21 are all male & a 10 yr old girl. Due to the language barrier we decided 2 yrs ago that he wld handle discipline/behavioral issues. For yrs he said, “American kids are disrespectful of adults, spoiled & lazy. My kids are nice & well-behaved.” He said to let him know ASAP of any/all problems and he'd “handle them immediately”. Well these kids are mannerless, manipulative, interrupt CONSTANTLY, questi. everything I say, give me silent treatmts. over having homework, talk over me in French & expect to be waited on by me--Just a FEW examples. If I tell my husb. he says, "You are lying!" or "I can't do anything about it!" He refuses counseling & I have no $$ to leave. Suggestions please?

Me and my husband really want another baby but he isn't willing to do anything to improve our chances.....

I am at my wits end! I have lost weight, given up caffeine and alcohol and have been charting, temps, mucus, etc and am definitely ovulating. I have irregular periods but was able to get pregnant easily with our first child. We have been having sex regularly (every other day) just to be on the safe side and are quite relaxed about the whole thing.

HOWEVER, my husband drinks alcohol regularly and smokes heavily (not just normal fags either!!!). We have talked about cutting down on certain "bad" things to aid our chances but he just doesn't seem to want to try??? I confronted him about the drinking a while ago as he seems to drink every day (even if its just one can of beer) but he is reluctant to cut down on anything.

Is there anything i can say or do that will convince him that all can be affecting our chances?

Anyone else been in this situation?

9 weeks into pregnancy should i be getting twinge/dull ache type feeling just below the rig cage at the front of my tummy? Sometimes slightly to the left and sometimes slightly to the right of the middle of my stomach.

He said yes and then we started trying and now he changed his mind and said that he doesn't want antoher child. He is divorced (6 years) and has a 12 year old son. What must i do?? I feel it's unfair towards me but whe have such a great relationship and we both love each other... Should i stick around and see if he changes his mind i'm emotionaly confused and really don't know what to do!!!!!!!! Am depressed about the situation and don't think i will be able to cope with a break up right now...

Been in a serious relationship (living together) boyfriend 9 years older than i am (my age 27) been on the pill for 9 years and now i want a baby.. Hormones working overtime... I was thinking of starting a home daycare (I have 2 kids of my own), however my husband and I are worried about possibly being sued for negligence if a child happens to get a boo boo. Has anyone ever heard of a home daycare being sued. Also, if I am sued (and god forbid i lose), can my home be seized in the suit?
