Swelling of fingers and ankles (peripheral oedema) during pregnancy is normal. You should keep your rings off if they are becoming tight as leaving them on can restrict the blood flow and even make the swelling worse. Besides it's better to take them off now than having to have them cut off later on! In some cases, this swelling can be a sign of Pre -eclampsia or severe high blood pressure in pregnancy so make sure you contact your Midwife, G.P. or Obstetrician for a quick check up to exclude this. Keep drinking plenty as this will encourage the body to rid itself of excess fluid and try to keep your hands and feet elevated when resting to reduced the swelling as the fluid is subject gravity. Hope this helps.

You're taking off your fingers!!!!! LOL sorry couldn't help myself there.

You are probably retaining water in your fingers and so they may not look swollen but really are.

Take the rings off and put them in a safe place for now. This to will pass.

Your body is getting hotter whist you are pregant and that make your body swell. It could also be a sign of high blood pressure so make sure you get that checked regularly.

It's nothing to do with you"getting fat" as the idiot answered, of course you will be putting on weight, but you now have more blood being pumped around your body as you have to keep that placenta full of blood/oxygen/nutrients to feed that little baby of yours.

The more blood you have, the warmer you will be (you are a home made incubator for your baby).

I was gutted to have to take my wedding ring & engagement ring off for both my pregnancies, but it's what we have to cope with to be comfortable.

Keep drinking lots of water & take care.

Congrats & good luck :-)

Yes, it's normal. Mine are swollen all the time too. As the day goes on it gets worse. My rings start to hurt and well, I have to get them off.

It is normal, it's fluid retention. You should take them off if they become really tight . Once the baby is born the fluid will go and your fingers will go back to normal. You may notice other parts of your body a bit puffy as well, face, ankles especially.

Don;t worry, it's normal for hands and feet to swell a bit during pregnancy. If they get VERY swollen then talk to your midwife, but a little is normal. Good luck

well this could be hapenng because you are under stress often when people get stressed there hands especially tend to swell up and can often be there fingers. although the rings that you are wearing have you had them for a while? because it could be that they need to be resized because they are getting a little too tight to wear if this is the case then just take them to a jewlers and they will resize them for you no problem!

Some swelling is normal in pregnancy. Try drinking more water, that helps with swelling.
