My sister has missed three periods, her last period was she thinks it was in may... her test keep coming up neg, only one test came up a very pale pos...it was really pale.... she has a two year old, when she found out she was pregnant with her 2 year old she was over three months overdue, is it possible that she would be doing the exact same way this time around? Her doctor told her the last time she had ovulated really late and thats why it took three months for her to find out! that she was pregnant. So how many periods did you miss before you found out you were pregnant? She has made an apt with her doctor but they can't see her until Sept 28, which is a while off. They are too booked up. So any help will be great. Thanks.

I love McDonalds and probably hadnt had one for about 4 months then had one a few weeks ago and had one last night and although at the time they were yummy afterwards they started to make me queasy? Has anyone else who is pregnant felt the same - i cant understand it, i usually love them!! (maybe its not having them in such a long time that ive got use to not eating them and now the body doesnt agree with them anymore) :-(

When the child is sick during a work day, what is the best way to make sure they're taken care of without having to take the whole day off?

Was taken off shots after being told that new studies show 2yrs is long enough. I recived it for 3 and half years and was not instructed to take calcium supplements(standard practice now) I am being told that new studies have linked it to brittle bones. I still haven't had a cycle yet and its been 8mths. I already have degenerative arthritis and had a battle with osteomylitis from an old carwreck i was in yrs ago. Can anyone tell me anything about this form of birthcontrol. Veterans hospital isnt set up to deal with young female vets. Can you believe the doc had her NP give me this shot repeatedly without researching it or my medical history. Is there anything i can do to reverse any damage to my bones or health for that matter.

She is 10 days old and has been eating Similac Advanced formula which is what they were giving her in the hospital. I'm not breast feeding b/c it was so painful and I wasn't producing enough for her to eat. So we gave her formula in the hospital but I was giving some breast milk. I stopped the breast milk about 3 days ago and now this started yesterday. Her stool is firm and less frequent - how can I help her?

I have not discplined her before and now that I haven't I don't know if she'll get it if I do. How do I make her understand a time out. I refuse to spank my child. Don't know what other options are out for a child of this age.

A cry for art

If Orwell really said 'Some ideas are so stupid that only an intellectual could believe them', he might have added that there's no notion so inane that some artistic person won't come up with it. On the front of the Sunday Times magazine today there are photographs - 20 of them - of young children crying. They were made to cry by the photographer, Jill Greenberg, arranging for their mothers to give them lollipops and then take the lollipops away. And for why?

[She] intended her images of sobbing babies to be a metaphorical commentary on what she sees as the evils of the Bush administration and the dangerous influence of the evangelical religious right.
What a bold concept. And the best way of achieving this aim:
I was trying to make images that made you feel something, because we are so inundated with images in our culture that oftentimes people don't feel anything.
We've all got deadened feelings, so... I know, I'll distress a whole lot of kids. And what else should their distress stand for but - all together now, assembled progressives and sound-thinking well-meaning folk - 'the Bush administration'.

This, from James Lileks (via InstaPundit) and although in a different connection, seems apt:

Of course, one could make the case that the greatest threats to the freedoms of the West are posed by the head-choppers, plane-exploders, their many merry supporters, and the nuke-seeking state that supports them.

But don't expect the artists to make the case. They saw what happened to that Theo Van Gogh fellow...

my newphew seems to have nightmares because he sometimes kicks and swings his arms around. I don't know if that wakes him up and in turn immidiately wants a bottle and will ask for it until I eventually give in and give it to him. What can I do to stop him from waking up so many times during the night? By the way he only drinks milk during the night. In the day he drinks water and juice only. He does not want milk unless is in a bottle.
