I used to work in a hospital and the advice that we gave was to put an ice pack on your ribs. The baby will move away from the cold.

Of course find a position that is the best and just do that as much as you need...if there is a room where you work , if you do work at this time, most people are incredibly generous with pregnant women, and if they are not they are just jerks, ask for the periodic rests or position changes you need, and your boss hopefully will accomodate you;if it is walking or whatever. Most people find it difficult to get a good breath when the baby is high like that so eat smaller more frequent meals,do the breath in through the nose and out through pursed lips like you are playing a flute, counting quietly to yourself your own rythym, for example:in 1,2,3, out 1,2,3 ....etc. Play music to distract you from the discomfort, get a sonogram as soon as possible and post it in a prominent place where you can look at it for distraction from the discomfort. Relax as much as possible, treat yourself like the queen of the universe because you are baby! And you will probably not even remember this by next year and it will all be worth it.

This part of the pregnancy always was hard. I totally understand! I would always get on all fours. For some reason it helped bring the baby forward... to at least get some comfort for a little bit. But obviously it didnt solve the problem. I dont really think there was anything else until the baby drops. Which is still a while away. Good luck! :)

My youngest was quite fond of doing that, with his feet usually. I would stretch up and out as far as I could and if that didn't work, I'd poke at his foot until he moved it. Then I'd get the soccer kick to the bladder. It was a lose lose situation. lol Good luck honey, there isn't much else you can do other than what's been suggested. I like the music idea, David Lee Roth scares me (it's the comb-over), so no wonder he scares a baby into moving. heh heh heh

When my unborn son was lying in a less-than-optimal position, my doctor suggested "dromedary droops." It's just a stretching exercise where you're down on all fours, and you arch your back like a cat, then relax (droop) and repeat.
I found a demo of it here for you:

Originally, my doc had me doing these a few times a day, to dislodge my son from his breech position. Must've worked, because he moved into his correct position after a couple of weeks. Maybe this exercise can move your baby around, too!
Hope this helps, and good luck!

Heating pads and hot bath.. that what i did .. My little girl was so high in my ribs you could not tell i was going to have a baby.. until the day i delvered her when she droped... JUst tack it easy and when it really hurts talk to your baby and just lightly rub and hopefuly your baby will give you a little brack and rest ..

have you noticed that most of the little bugers that do the foot in the rib thing are boys..............my son did the very same thing, tried a lot of the exercises etc but basically had his foot in my ribs for a HUGE amount of the pregnancy
Take care and good luck

well it looks like you have gotten some really good and some really funny answers here. I personly like that music one! but I actually did the whole walking and poking them back thing! all three of my boys liked my ribs and my last one actually perminatly warped my ribcage! he would push his foot up into them untill the pressure poped he foot off and that hurt! once he even push out hard enuf that you could count his toes thru my belly! and My husband saw it and actually had the nerve to comment "dont that hurt" well duh you dumb $h!t that hurts! but i lived thru it and alls well and i'm pregnant again.
walk and poke back and try that mucis thing it sounds funny enuf to work!
good luck it only gets worse as the baby gets bigger thou! enjoy it while it lasts.

Lol @ Circlm
Not much unless you can find a limb outside your ribs and physically push it down. I had to do that with my son, 'move' his foot out of my ribcage constantly.
Persistent little bugger, he was.
